Hoz

I have a level 69 paly, that needs a great shield, where is the best place for a HOZ drop if it will drop at all? Or a shield that is just as good. NM meph?

Nm meph dropped a Hoz for me once. It had pretty good stats. But i'm not sure if hes the best to look for a Hoz. Sorry i couldn't help you :( .

Statistically, one of the better places to get a HoZ is NM Baal, followed by NM Diablo, NM Andarial and then NM Meph. However, it takes alot longer to do a Baal run, or a Diablo run, than say a Meph or Andy run, so your probably better off sticking to those two.

I just realised, that you can't get a HoZ from NM Andarial. NM Duriel is the first to be able to drop it. So, it's just NM meph that you should probably run in order to find one. I don't know what I was thinking when I read it before :/

Well, overall it's better to stick to Hell Meph and Andy than NM, simply because they can drop items from higher TC's. This way, you'll probably find a couple of other good items, while your trying to get a HoZ. The chance for a HoZ dropping from Hell Meph and Andy isn't that much lower than NM Meph anyway.

Thats easy: NM Andy can't drop rings "higher" than SoJ. This increases the chance of dropping it, because there are fewer unique rings to choose from.

An extrem example would be the unique gull dagger. Your chances are best at some super unique (cold crow, if I remember correctly) in act 1 normal, as he cant drop much else.

i just realized that this ladder season i have still not found a single hoz. things i have found 3xsoj, griffons, coa, Lo, Jah, 2xmaras and more but not 1 hoz i had to trade for all of the ones i have had this season.

My HoZ came from Hell Meph. If you're up to running him, I think its a better bet since you can get lots of other high level goodies as well.

Hell Meph has better odds than NM Meph and he can drop a lot of the nicer Elite Uniques.

How high was your MF-number? Chance of HoZ drop is bigger at hell Meph than NM meph. Do you do runs with /players8 ??? How many runs can you do for...1 hour ?
