Charged Boltress viable?

I am just coming back to the game. I am playing a bit of Classic. I just started a Double Swing Barb LLD and now I'm thinking about a Sorc.

Anyway, I have always been interested in making a Charged Boltress with Frozen Orb secondary.

Would this be a viable build in Classic?

yes, in fact i think they are the best lightning sorceresses you can make on classic.

I made 1 a while back with 110 fcr, and she could killl p8 cs non LI's pretty quickly.

Just max light mast, cb, and lightning, and teleknises, and get a lvl 8 or so energy shield after + Skills. Just follow Ethos fo/es sorc guide, only instead of fo, put to cb and syerngys. It works like a charm.

I made a charged boltress in open to test it out.
I was very unimpressed. less than 200 dmg per bolt and it is difficult to hit anything with more than a few bolts at a time.. very short range and charges move extremely slow... what is there to like about it?
It looks cool sending out 24 charges per shot at 110 cast yes.. but the damage this skill does makes it pretty much useless.

Really? I made a sorc that could solo hell cs (except for the light immunes) with ezz, on p1. Mabye your aiming the Cb's wrong? Its like cs, you have to go up close for it to be effective.

I was going close, but maybe I was attacking from a bad angle.
I know with cs the angle is important.

I can see that it could be viable for pvm at 110 cast, especially coupled with
static. but overall I would say it is one of the underpowered skills in the game.

i made one it had great damage but it died alot, at lvl 47 it gets owned doin norm tomb runz....but then again it was when i was a noob nd was usin a staff lol....

Hmmm....I don't know, I guess I will just build one and see what happens. You guys aren't giving me a lot of hope, heh.

He told you he could solo cs -_-. If you think it's underpowered then try a frost nova sorc.

I'm currently making a cb'er now, shes lvl 31 and is doing well in act1 nm...it only takes a few casts to take down anything on my screen.
