Yo dudes and dudettes,

Our brave adventures has reached the hellish version of the rouge camp, all five of us.... (You count also Eury) :D

Time for the real test.... And boy did I suck or what.... I still use glegs set and do pitiful damage. I am now officially a BO *****. :teeth:

Anyway, enough about me. Luckily we have some other killers in this group and we did it to the cloister wp without too many near death experiences.

I hope you all can make it to Monday so we get this going... you to Eury, I for sure missed that cold damage.

Same here...

With half the monsters Lightning Immune (at times everything on a single map!) and no Lower Resists yet, my Lightning Sorcy had to resort to good ole porting-about-a-bit-to-try-n-keep-the-insight-merc-alive so at least the bone necro could keep up his spells to look busy :lol:

And unfortunately, the gloves and Shadowhood are not taught by trainers, the patterns are currently not for sale in AH...so 3 out of the 4 items I cannot make :(

I noticed that. I wasn't feeling mean, or else I would have typed something in game (to the effect of "Don't touch them up - kill them !!" :lol: )

Sorry about that - I thought we were more a melee team, so didn't get lower resist (my bad). The good news is that I need just one more level and it's there. I still like the insight merc - there's something immensely satisfying about being able to spam bone spears and spirits, without having to worry about mana.

The only problem I had was with BloodRaven. I had her name locked and was hammering her with bone spirits, but unfortunately, there were two undead things standing beside me, hammering me. Embarrassing thing is, they were doing it better.

I'll try and level once with some NM Baal runs, so LR is there then we meet Monday

I managed to rech level 74 in hell Tristram (I love this area). Found trang and sanders gloves, rockfleece armor. Cubed shadow disciplines charm with 4 dex. And Waflob found great charm for our barb - 10 max, 6x AR.

My resists suck big time, especially lightning - so would you guys be so kind and let me use the lum for smoke? Or if anyone got sol, I'd make a lore, can give ya shael for it ;) Or just a 3 sock grim or some damn gloves or a 4 sock armor with ral-ort-ort-thul for example:D

Sorry bout the delay people. Diablo keeps crashing within a minute of starting it, locking up my computer entirely.

Running a check for virii and spyware now, hoping that'll sort things out.

We decided to do a couple mf runs with Eury after tonights session - with fatal consequences :rolleyes:

We did Tristram well (only one close call for both of us) and decided to move on to pits with a little hesitation. I recalled I had cloak of shadows; we cleared the way to pits and level 1 easily.

But: level 2 had a conv/le skeleton in it (very nasty sparks), Eury went too close, started spamming and bit the dust. I was all fuzzed about the stormspike that dropped right before eury's deeds so wasn't there to cover her back (well, wouldn't have been much help anyway :D ). I killed the bloke after a long battle (used minion, merk and DS mostly, didn't dare to take him melee) and got some of them valuable thingies Eury had on.

So, yet another char down, only three original ones to go :thumbsup:

Yep, sorry guys I keep dying. Spamming tornados at a LE boss, with 16 light res was not a wise move. I think being that careless has something to do with lost of interest in playing I'm afraid :/ But I'll join you with the mavina girl, it's becoming a new tradition ;)

And I've no clue what's causing the crashes. I installed WoW last tuesday and could play last wednesday just fine. I didn't have any other problems other than D2, but don't have the CDs at my place so can't reinstall...

Might just be the heat, but I doubt it.

Oh no !! :eek: You char was one of the stronger ones in the group. We may now have to actually do something for our exp, instead of just following the debris around, leeching as we go :lol:

But seriously - damn - I'm really sorry to hear that. Those conv/le things in hell are dangerous. They can take max lite res into the minus, so your druid probably had a relatively high lite 'intolerance'

Assuming that you are unlikely to remake at this stage of the game, what are you going to do now ?

Might just be the heat, but I doubt it.

Don't underestimate the problem of heat. It can cause all sorts of strange things. Usually, the system hangs if the cpu / mainboard gets too hot. If the graphic card overheats, the system will often just stop.

Had exactly this problem with junior's pc and the answer involved installing a secondary fan directly over the (new, passivley cooled) graphic card.

You can tell if it's heat related quite easily. Just take off one side panel and position the hair dryer to blow cold (not hot !) air into the casing. If the problems go away, you know it's heat.

that's what I mean - it's called passive cooling and isn't always the best method. I really would suggest you try the hair dryer thing - you never know ...

Well... Checked my CPU temperature, which was approx 56 degrees centigrade.
Videocard doesn't even have a fan =)

WoW ran smooth enough without crashing, and I'd wager that's a bit harsher on the card, so I have no frigging idea what causes the problem.

There is a vidcheck util in the D2 directory that checks if you want to play in 2d or 3d. It might be vise to run that again now that you have changed video card.

Other than that i dont really know...

Ohh.. and Maggy, I have some chars in the 60ish range that has finished NM, A javazon and a.... Teslafroster :D. Take one of these. You could strip them (heavy twinked i think) or you can do whatever you want with them.

Just say Yes and you got a PM. :thumbsup:

I dont think there is much of a heating problem, as WoW runs okay and atleast for me it generates more heat than D2.

No worries, these are retired chars that has been collecting dust for a while. Better give them the opotiunity to die a worthy death. furthermore i am almost done with this game so there is no great loss if they die.

A little recap for tonights playing....

Can everyone play tonight?

Eury is prolly playing my old teslafroster :D
Have you fixed your D2 issues on your comp Aerath?

We have done the Smith, but Aerath is missing all hell q + nm Nilathak. So if Aerath is around tonight we start of with a Nil run, and then do the Act1 hell quests from the start.

I dont remember where the pally is ingame, but i think he has finished of nm baal anyway.

Have i missed something? in that case please update... ;)

Ohh.. I almost forgot.. The tals mask got me enough leech to actually ww without gulping pots all the time :D.... even if i dont kill so fast...

Yep, paladin must be the choice, taking the javazon would be unwise, beacuse we already have lightning damage. He misses the shield right now, but I got an old spirit somewhere (not to mention a HoZ, but that would be too much twinking). See you tonite then!!!

It looks like it's the video card that's screwing things up.
The game works when I put it into the hated 3d mode... (at least, I tested it for a few minutes and it worked), but I drop to 4 FPS as soon as something comes on the screen. That's completely unplayable.

I think it's the new drivers I installed, since the game worked last Wednesday. I was using drivers that were more than a year old then, so decided to upgrade them. =/

*w00t!* Decided to be an idiot and install the old drivers again. It -looks- like the game runs again. Killed normal S/E, teled around most of the Cold Plains and the game didn't crash, so... fingers crossed !

You never know with the drivers. For some time I used default microsoft drivers, cause it worked better than nvidia ones. Next nvidia version was fine for me though.

I made a pure max damage tesladin (yes, he's 74 and alive). He has physical dmg as a backup attack. Does over 8k total damage :D I levelled him yesteday from 46 to 74, without doing a single public baal. Ancients Way in 8 ppl games is as good ;)

He's twinked, but if you guys want I can use him instead of Nex' char.

Unlike the problems we read about earlier on these forums, KTA had little to no problems in the Claw Viper temple.

Act II done. A few close(-ish) calls here and there, most notable (for me at least) the sorcy being on a few HP.

No BO + Dead Insight Merc + Negative Res = Quickly removed HP vs the arcane in the Palace Cellar.

And yes... I think my poison res is at about 69. That's the only positive res I've got. Rest should be around -50 to -25.

I've just looked at a drop calculator and it would seem that the best place to get Marrowwalks is from hell flayers. Very difficult to play with crossed fingers, so I'm just going to hope :-)

There's some ideas for KTA 12, most interesting (to me) at the moment is the Green Team. So those full sets might well come in handy in a while. Oh wel;... =)

Another offered suggestion was KTA moving to WoW.

My Undead Rogue made lvl 13 today =)
My Troll Mage is cursing the lack of a Trainer in the Barrens. I'll need some additional memory before I will go brave Ogrimmar again. 0.5 FPS is =not= fun.

Ever considered to try UC? Its a bit of a longer trip, but pretty lag free. There are also lots of trainers in Brill as you know.

KTA in WoW? Having fixed times with a group should be fun. Catching up easy. 5 people, Mage/Priest/Warrior/Rogue/Warlock? Or Shaman? RoXXors to do Instances with friends...and quest.

That group looks pretty similar to what I was talking about earlier with a friend...

Mage/Warrior/Rogue/Shaman and Druid or Priest.
I suppose there's no -real- fixed need for anything... Druid could replace the Warrior, and a Warlock and Hunter should bring pets to tank instead of a Warrior. Druid, Priest and even Shaman can heal. Mage, Warlock or even Priest can do spell damage...

I'd love to try a Shaman then I think... and if there's a spot that friend'd like to go for the Warrior. Would mean that all have to go with Troll/Ork I think, which rules out the Tauren Druid... but going Tauren would rule out the Rogue.

It'd be some thinking, probably to sort everything out really nearly...

Later on, nothing beats a warrior as a tank. Shamans can off-tank but past 40 or lets say 50 you want a Warrror. No pet, no demon replaces a good warrior..my VW can't even hold aggro now on mobs his own level. Shaman is a good mix of everything however, I give you that. We should have one of those.

A Hunter is great if the person knows how to play him...and so are Rogues but they can't exactly tank as well. Not long anyhow. This is of course Instance talk. We won't have trouble with any group most of the time (other than overconfidence.)

Of course, if we want to be together ALL the time, we need a pure UD group, or a Troll/Orc mix. Or loads of bull :lol:

5 UD would be very creepy, but no Shamans, Hunters or Druids here. 5 Trolls are also not too bad.

If you ask me, we should shoot for a Warrior, Rogue, Shaman, Priest, Mage group.... But Priests and mages can generate a mean amount of aggro. So hold back on the spells until the warrior has gained enough aggro.

Druid might have a somewhat harder time with aggro management, but with excess of 5k armour and boatload of hitpoints, he can tank fairly well...

Rogues can grab aggro away from a mage (if the mage has half a brain), then brush it off on a Tank if need be...

You would be amazed how difficult it is sometimes to feint it off on a warrior - when something is really out for your blood
