Help w/ LLD Socketing

Now I'm think of making a lvl 30 or so charger, but I want to know what to socket in to this beast: %edmg jewel, or max dmg jewel.

the 20% jewel will give .5 more avg dmg and is WAYYYYYYY cheaper then the +24maxer

fyi: if ur playing ladder the insight word on partizen or rune staff for a 27 charger work very well too. (etheralness also making them all the more gorgeous)

Hmm I suppose Zod would be out of the question because its lvl req would be WAY too high for a LLD. Nef seems a good idea, but Charge automatically does Knock Back so Nef isn't neccessary. Maybe just an Max Dam / IAS jewl?

If I were you I'd be REALLY worried about it breaking... :(

Yes, a zod would be 100% out of the question. If hes going to use that on a dueler, the only real practical choices are a level 30 leaper or a level 30 charger. I suppose, if he really felt like being creative, he could do something like a 2h zerker, but I dont think thats his plan...

The best socket is, as jerkazoid said, a 20%ED jewel. Ideally, you could find one with a 2nd mod, but thats likely going to be really hard to find.

a max/ias jewel is NOT the way to go either. IAS does ZERO for a charger or leaper, and as jerkazoid stated, ed>max for the socket in this weapon.

I wouldnt nef it either, because as Dennis pointed out, charge has an automatic knockback to it, and knocking back is not anything you really want unless its a charger anyways.

Conclusion: go with a 20% ED jewel.

Oh please no. If I recall correectly, that jewel is level 9 req, right...? Trade that for a lot, as its worth quite a bit to a VLLDer. I'd say get a plain 20% ED jewel, and put that in... lose a little damage, but trade the 15/9 jewel... its worth quite a lot to the right buyer.

a 15% +9 lvl 9 jewel is worth a few runes to SC vllds

the plain 20% is fine really.. (after all the thing will break eventually)
