Pvm Frenzier

I'm making a frenzy barb, and decided on almost all his gear so far.
The only problem is what weapons he will use.
I will use him for pvm, or as a fast tank in team pvp.

His planned gear:
Arreat's face
Fortitude
Highlord's wrath
Ravenfrost
Dual leech ring with some other bonuses
Verdungo's
Dracul's grasp
Gore riders (Should I upgrade them?)
And his weapons:
Planned a beast zerker, but don't know if I should get a botd zerker or grief zerker in the other weapon slot. What would you do? And what would do more damage?

I'd recommend Grief zerker in the main hand and Beast zerker in the of hand. With 30 IAS from grief + 20 IAS from highlord's + lvl 9 fanat + lvl 24 frenzy you'll be able to reach 5 FPA frenzy, which is it's max speed.

A Stormlash would also be really neat with Static Field and Crushing Blow + it's fast!

Edit: Of course that won't help you much when you're using axes :rolleyes:

Most people so far said grief, but I'd like an explanation why...
It seems to do more damage, but how much more than a botd? And botd has some nice mods to make up for that, the stats and lifeleech, for example, doesn't that compare?

I use 2 swords: oath champion (fast) and death collossus (cb + dmg)

works really well, so you should think about beast + death

The worst possible Grief zerker outperforms the best possible EBotDz by quite a large margin. It also adds 20 DS and Venom, which makes it even more superior to EBotD damagewise. The leech from EBotD is negligable in this case, because Dracul's + dual leech ring are enough. The stats from ebotd are nice, but they're not crucial.

try dual DEATH or a dual oath or comb of these 2:

setup:
weapons: 2* eth death BA (+0.5-50% (per Character Level, 50% crush) or 2* oath eth ba or scourge (scourge VERY FAST!!!!)
gloves: dracul (25% ow) or steelrends (10% crush)
boots: gore (10% ow, 15% crush, 15% deadly)
amu: highlord (+0.375% Per Character Level Deadly
armor: forti or duress (15% crush, 33% ow)
rings: raven 250/20~~ and bk 5%
helm: areats
belt: verdungo

lets calculate:
open wounds: 68% (with dracul)
Crush: 130% (with 2x death) (without steelrends)
deadly: (lvl 90) 139.75 (with 2x death)

this is a real boss killer perfect for bosses and any enemy :D

but you can try grief and a death that is still very good i tried death on a pala lubly

When dual wielding, CB and DS from both weapons doesn't stack.
EDIT: This setup also reaches only 6.5 FPA frenzy.

I realized the leech on botd isn't that helpful either, but only after posting :rolleyes:
And if grief gets better damage, I'll try that one. It also gets me to 5fpa frenzy, coupled with beast, which is crucial to me... I'm building a frenzier for speed, not to hit slow at 6.5 fpa :o

Maybe I'm missing something here but with a BOTD you get 60 IAS which is much better than 30 from grief...I realize this is passed max but perhaps this would help when cursed by decrep, just a thought (also I just like the stats for botd but as said earlier they aren't crucial)
