i was thinking, putting some points in shockwave to get some nice duration, and fireclaws to kill pvp. does shockwave work the same way as in pvm ? my thoughts where :
stun oponent for 2 seconds and the fire claw them to death. Where should i place the points, and can someone link me to the fire claw bear guide, cuz when i try opening it, it just said that rpgforums is split up :)

It's quite likely I'm wrong, but I think I once heard that shockwaved players can still run away, even if they can't attack.
I only know of one pvp build that used showckwave well and it had lots of fast cast and a very high lvl bear. You shock them then cast a bear in behind of them and continue to shock.
shockwave is key to winning when using a maul bear. I even know a fc bear that now shocks + 1 maul then goes to fc for stun lock.
However, more than 1 point in it is a waste ... its a 1 point wonder
From what I have experienced in the past, Shockwave will NOT leave them stunned, they will have the twirls above them however. So what you need to do is Shockwave, hit them (with anything, preferably summons) and they will become stunned, then you could hit them with Maul to keep them in a stun lock, or you could keep using Shockwave and let your summons keep up the stunning since sometimes when running up to them, they could get out of the lock when they are no longer under the effects of Shockwave and you will have trouble getting them again.

agreed. shockwave is an awesome pvp useful skill. My hardest duels require a successful shockwave at the beginning to initiate stun lock. If I get it, though, duels over in a hurry. good point, voice.

so maul adds to the stun-lock?

especially if you get maul charge and then use fireclaws, normal attack, or hunger. It works really well with mixed damage attacks.

If I understood grobyc, some kind of hit in addition to shockwave is necessary to actually lock them.

Yep, that's what I have experienced in the past. I'm not sure if it has been changed or not, someone may be able to answer it for you, perhaps some testing, but I haven't played a Werebear for years (not before 1.10, I don't think).
Keep in mind shockwave is blockable, at least it was in 1.09.
