Need help with a beginners PvP char.

hello all.
I usually play hcl on the europe realm. But I have decided to start a PvP char on scl. I don't have alot of items, actually all I have is a HOZ :)

I'm thinking a melee dueller with smite and zeal, is this a vailable build? I've been thinking and to max out zeal and smite it'll take 106 skillpoints, with max smite, holy shield, zeal, sacrefice and fanatism. The thing is that smite need alot of AR and smite doesn't.. what to do?

for gear I was going with Gullames face, zaka, shaft, highlords+raven(or angelics), waterwalk, TG, bloodfist. Don't have a clue what weapond to use but maybe upped headstriker? It can't cost too much since I have to start from scratch.

well smite dont need AR but Zeal does ;) that's a hell of a funny quote i think :thumbsup: . well if u want ar go with all ar charm's (best if they have life to) u can get ur dirty hand's on! a good zeal weapon for you would be something with ITD! i dont have the time to look up a good one for you but maybe some1 else will list it!

for smite you would want a fast weapon with CB% DS% and OW% one weapon is Fury Pb but since u cant afford that some1 else has to help you, a good belt you could afford is verdungo's u can also try out shako it add's mana and life wich can be usefull if u dont want to prebuff or dont have a CtA.

I think it's a very bad idea to have 2x physical melee attacks...go with one or the other. I don't know much about PvP but it seems that a Smiter is capable of beating all melee classes consistently except for WW barb, so go with Smite:)

A smiter is apparently called a Vindicator...Paladin subclasses are hella confusing:)

Your going to have to use a greif I think and a upped hoz. If you want to mix zeal with smite. Your def is all ways going to be a little lower then most other builds. But you can make up with smite since greif and zeal/smite is just scary. I say other then those items make a normal zealot item wise set up.

there are boots that give fire res psn res and str + life wich i think is important for hybrid's + highlord's and some good gloves and armor should really help out zeal anyway.

I'm sorry but I think a grief is a bit too much for someone who's got nothing on scl. A fast weap with ITD? Hmm, lightsabre? :D

If i go with zeal:
20 Holy shield
20 Smite
20 Fana
20 Sacrefice
rest in Zeal?

And charge:
20 Holy shield
20 Smite
20 Fana
20 Defiance
the rest in Charge?

Wich is the best equipment for either build? I have to choose between some cheap options.
Stone/shaft?
TGs/String?
Gore/WWs?
Gullames/Shako?
Res and skill amu/highlords?
