Hi all,
looking at the elite unique 'Lightsaber', I see that it has 20% ias and 25% lite absorb.

1. If I'm a dual wielding barb, does the 20% ias get used on both weapons ?
2. Does then 75% lite res make me immune to lightning ?

Only the ias on one weapon will get used with most skills. I know that with the assassin, when using the normal attack, it uses the ias on both weapons - I don't know if it's the same with a barb. Someone else should give you a more definitive answer.

As for 75 % resistance making you immune to lightning... no. Here's what happens.

You get hit with a 1,000 damage lightning attack. First, your 75% lightning resistance affects it, and it gets cut down to 250 damage.

Then, your absorb kicks in. If you have 25% absorb, then you are essentially cutting that damage in half - 25% of that damage is removed, and added to your life. So you would only take a total of 125 damage.

With two lightsabers, you have 50% absorb. WIth this, no matter how much damage you take, you will end up with the same amount of health. However, you MUST be able to survive the initial damage. If you can survive the initial damage, 50% absorb will bring you back to whatever you were at before.

Percentual absorb is capped at 40%.

thanks for the quick replies. I didn't think it would be a simple matter of adding up the 75% res and 25% absorb and getting 100% - thanks for explaining how that works - much appreciated.
