Moving items between characters

If i have two characters and one has an item i want to give to the other, is there any easy way to do this?

in single player there is a program called atma, it can be found in a sticky thread in the single player forum

Nope, only single player characters (open bnet).
On battle net, get a trusted friend to hold items for you (using trade screen, never drop things on the ground in case realm goes down) while you go get your other character.

there is a way to transfer by yourself. Make a passworded game on normal and wait for 5 minutes. That guarantees that the game is permed for at least 10 minutes or so. Then drop your item on the ground and switch characters. Then go back to the game and pick up the stuff.

Note: do not do this too often or else you will get a realm down which will lead to the loss of many items. Also i would not recommend doing this for high lvl items such as enigmas or botds. Ask for a trusted friend to hold those while your transfer.

Also, white items (and grey, don't know about rune words) on the ground disappear after a short while. Be careful.

runewords are considered uniques so they stay on the ground longer.
