View Full Version : Good items for IG?

I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for good and somewhat cheap items to use for an IG. What I'm looking for is not raw power or defense but rather utility type things. I'm making a boner with 20 golem mastery so i can play around with IG's and not have them die on me constantly. So far I know insight is nice but I wanna try more things. Note that it has to be cheap enough so that I don't get a heart attack when my IG dies.

Ik mauls. cheap and have CB :D

high def ethereal armour.


get a high res 4 socketed paly shield n socket with 4 pdiamonds. then turn it into an iron golem for elemental immunity

I second IK Maul!! Or if you're dumb as me, try an Exile. My Exile IG died in 3 hits. :clap:

but will an ig connect enough hits for the cb to be effective?

I have found that IGs that I have made work wonderfully when they have a chance to cast frost nova. I find the slow to really help out a lot.

Once i was running Pindle and made a IG outta Boneslayer Gothic Axe and the IG was hell of fun with holy bolt that triggers so often hehe. He worked wonders at Ancients Tunnels or any area with lots of undead hehe. Unfortunately lost spiky to a dorky OB Knight at WS3 :(

p.s Also Minatour Ancient Axe with 50% clow and cb :P

it's allways fun to make an ig out of an ethereal item and have an ethereal golem..lol

mhh, question, if you made IG out of an indestructable item, would the golem itself become indestructable? that would soo own..lol

No, the Golem will not become indestructible. The indestructible refers to durability. An IG doesn't have durability.

thought so...but since D2 isn't exactly a "bug free" game..I wondered..

well, you could allways an IG out of faith, for an awesome power boost...thought I'd say it's a less than cheap alternative..

Cheap insights are by far the best. I maxed mastery and am at lvl 40 mastery after items. That makes him have almost 10k life. Having meditation on golem frees up your merc to use better items that are useful for you such as faith/infinity. The only time my golem ever dies is when I die, so rarely. I find enough sol runes and 4 soc poles to make more as needed to keep him.
