View Full Version : What would be better?

Perf. Up'd Titan's or Thunderstroke? (if using LF as an attack). I ask this because I see the only effective modifier for LF being +skills. The damage from the Titan's would indeed be higher, but this is on the initial throw. Once the bolts split off, they do (with Thunderstroke) 1-811 (unsynergized). If the attack were fully synergized, the bolts would do 1-1459. While this is a bit higher, it means two or three LF's will kill a pack of cows rather than just one.
Also, I have a DREAM Troll Nest on switch with this setup...would a perf Headhunter's Glory socketed with three P. Light Facet's be better? IMHO, the added 15% dmg would again be negligible...

If you can get your hands on a eth uped titans, i would go with that.
Most people prefer the stat boost and faster run walk on the titans over the -% enemy res on thunderstroke. If you want all out lighting dmg, go with thunderstrokes, survivabilty and physical dmg go with titans.

My only issue with the Thunderstroke is the fact that they do not replenish. All out light damage is what I am after...and the added FRW is not really an issue. I am wearing light armor and I have 50% FRW equipped. Survivabilty is not too much of an issue since Lightning Fury is a backup attack. I neglected to mention that...would that have made a difference?
Anyway, would Eth. Up'd P-Titans still win? BTW, My T-Strokes are damn near perfect 195/4/3...I am enjoying them...but replenishing them is not fun.
As a back-up attack method, I say T-strokes, because you won't be throwing them that often. But if you ever want to do Cows with LF, by all means get the Titan's. Also, as for a shield, I would recommend +skills (Spirit if you have the str) or facets. The + skills adds damage to each bolt, and in mid-sized packs, I'd swear I have seen individuals get hit with multiple bolts (OK, maybe I pierced). And 15% LD is nothing to sneeze at, and is even more effective if they have any lightning resistance. The pulse damage from HS is nice, but I think you can get off several LFs between pulses, and the extra LD added to attack is only for the monsters that you physically hit.
Anyway, this is probably irrelevant, because I am sure you would tear through them without any shield.

Dud...you are probably right....here is where the problem comes into play. Spirit does not have very good defense, and the weight of the shield is an issue. The lightest 4 socketed shield is a Monarch (str. 156). I would be unable to equip it.
I have found that my Dream Troll Nest has been quite effective, though it is true that the lightning damage is added only to physical attacks. Here are its stats:
DREAM Troll Nest:
-----------------
Lvl Requirement: 57
Str Requirement: 106
10% Chance To Cast Level 15 Confuse When Struck
Level 15 Holy Shock Aura When Equipped
+29% Faster Hit Recovery
+30% Enhanced Defense
+200 Defense
+10 To Vitality
Increase Maximum Life 5%
+0.625-61.875 To Mana (Based On Character Level)
All Resistances +17
19% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
As for the T-Strokes...reloading kind of stinks, but it is nice to use when the arrows aren't finding their mark. The pulses help to put the monsters into hit recovery...and it makes it easier for the javelin to find their mark.
This is yet another reason I was looking for some input on whether to add JAB and/or GA to my rapport of skills. I have the Dream Shield and T-Strokes adding quite a bit of lightning damage to my attack. If I put 1 point into JAB it will be at level 6...which doesn't positively affect the damage done, but at least it gets her out of the RED (-% damage done).
If I add guided arrow it will cost 2 points, and it will end up at level 7. This will add 30% damage to my bow attack and will track targets. I think that perhaps I will add both of them...what do you think?
If you have not read my guide, please check it out...you will see exactly how this ZON is built.

i replied to your guide, vgg
about the titans vs tstrokes, they both grant +4 to java skills, titans also adds +2 to bow and passive skills though
i heard once (not sure if this is accurate though) that the holy freeze from 'ice' adds to the splash damage in FA, if this is true .. wouldnt holy shock also add to the bolts from LF? that would be awsome o_o
Crash,
I read the guide - well done. I can only hope to get the gear in one life time...
HSh pulses send them into hit recovery? Cool.
As for Jab and/or guided. I can't think of a reason to use guided, except maybe against bosses or some other baddie you want to approach cautiously. The damage is low-ish, but you should have a good rate of fire and might/fortitude/conc could start to make this very potent. As for jab, you already have a physical attack skill, multi. But then, this is best against "multi" monsters, and a few quick jabs against a single opponent will add in the LD from the Dream.
I don't know what level you are currently at, or how many points you have to spend, but I would say spend the point in jab. If you don't like it, then consider it as a pre-req for ChStrike, which you already have one synergy for. It's great against large bosses. If you are mainly going to MF at this point, personally, I would wait a few days before deciding - placed points are forever...
Multi is probably a better "probing" skill than guided, and you have got ITD so penetrate is a waste, except for bosses. It's hard for me to come up with a good suggestion other than jab. Your main two skills, multi and LF, are group attacks, and MA is mainly for immunes. Maybe Jab and some more dodge, as you will be standing in the thick of things more often? Or spend two points to get FA - though you would need to get several cold charms to make it last - freeze then jab.
Not that I need to say this, but whatever you decide, keep us posted.
