Resistances questions

I am just curious about what your resistances are in hell with your bow zon.


It seems to me that if I want to have half decent resistances I have to load my inventory with the most resistance charms. It's my first bowzon since 1.10

here is my setup :

45% ias Tiara
GM Faith Bow
Fortitude
KB Glove
Rare boots with high resistances
Nos coil
raven/rare duel leech with resistances

None of my resitance is maxed and fire is in the minus. I don't know if I am too concerned about my resistances but there is one thing that becomes clear, Rune word are all very nice but they sure don't leave much room for gear ajustement..........

Are you hardcore or soft? My guess is you softcore because of the nice RWs. :p
My HC bowzon just started A3 and her resists 60FR,36CR,75LR and 17PR. This is about where I want to be at with the exception of fire, which needs to be maxed. She is a dual elementalist and packs a half dozen cold damage and two poison charms. Every one of these charms has another mod, res,life,dex etc. Rolling sc's in the cube really pays off because there are so many good charms that are possible.

Resists aren't as important in SC, but the burning souls in A5 will make life a little rough for you if you have neg fire res.

And the gloams in act 5 will make life difficult for anyone with low LR. I hate those guys.

well i guess it depends on your build and play style...i have zons in sc with all negative resists and also maxed resists....a few in between too....if you are dying from elemental attacks more than you can tolerate then you should start to look at increasing your resists.....some absorb may not hurt either....it doesn't look like you are hurting for currency judging by what you are already using....tell us a little more about your build and what the zon is used for and also a list of all of your equip with resist numbers .....i am sure we can help with some equip suggestions....i also assume you have all anyas....

I think, it really depends on what you want to do with your zon, as far as how high you want your resistances to go. For example - duelers, I imagine, would want high resists so they don't get killed by one or two t-storm bursts. My LF amazon that I'm working on right now, however, will have -45 resist all after the anya quests, because she is going to get 30 from those and 25 from her 2x eld-ed moser's. In my case, I only plan to use her for hell cows, in an effort to find grey items, so I don't need to worry about resists quite AS much. I'm sure I'll find myself irritated by the occasional elemetal enchanted cow, but I'll manage.

However! That said, no matter what gear you're using, I would make certain that if you're going to be questing, dueling, mfing or whatever in an area where you're going to expect elemental damage... I'd at least make your resistances positive. The more you expect to see, the higher you will want that resistance.

A few precison here :

This zon is PvM only. I have some good gear but really I am not that wealthy. Add to this list a Grief phase blade and an infinity polearm (special off/on ladder trade) on that's about all my ladder riches.

This zon is what I would call a gun for hire. I do Baal runs but also grant help to anyone asking. I just like to help people. This bring my zon to revisite pretty much any part of the game.

I have done some tweaking since last post and my resistances are as follow :

FR 2 %
CR 39 %
LR 80 %
PR 35 % or so

I have around 900-950 HP. I did not go all out dexterity because I knew I was going to use a Faith bow. On the other hand, my AR on switch is not that good.

My charms selection consiste mainly of a mix bag of resistances charms with minor second mod for the most part. Got a 50 psc as well.

30 all resistances is from my armor. Boots are rare with 20 % FWR and 39 % CR and 35 % PR. Give it or take a few % on each number but that's pretty close. Highlord Ammy provides nice lightning resistance. I have no resistance but PLR on my KB gloves.(that's somewhere I probably could improve). I have some resistances on my rare dual leech ring as well but I don't remember the stats on it.

Also on a side note : My switch bow is an Harmony Blade Bow. It works ok but I am still having difficulties againts physical immune. I have tried WWS but amp does not go off too often probably due to my low AR on switch. I might redo my Haromony in a Matriarchal bow but I had chosen a blade bow because it allowed me to use it rather rapidely right from level 45. I am thinking to equipe my merc with a Reaper's Troll maybe instead of his insight.

I had him use my infinit polearm, that worked great all right but this item is required for another character. I might eventually get it back for her merc.

I like to have as close to max FR and LR, which is easier for me as I am mostly strafing with WWS. One suggestion to boost your FR, the only problematic res I see, is to use Laying of Hands, the Disciple Set gloves. They give +50 FR, and the 20 IAS could allow you to switch out one of the fervors in your tiara for a Ral (another 30 FR).

The only other suggestion is to craft KB gloves with FR, and possible IAS so you can replace one of the tiara's fervors with Tal.
