How does the damage-to-self in sacrifice work? does the damage also count the percentage added to your own damage from the skill? or does it just count the base damage from your weapon?

Also, how does sacrifice work with fanaticism? Is the percentage from fanaticism applied first, and then the percentage from sacrifice applied? or do the percentages combine into one big bonus for your weapon's damage?

The damage you take using sacrifeice works just like Life Leech, only it takes it away instead. It takes a % off of the actual damage you DEAL, and then you lose that much life. This is why Life Leech is used to counter it.

The % Damage added is additive to similar bonus' like those of Fanatisicm. So if Sacrifice gives +200% ED and Fanatisicm grants +400% ED then you will gain +600% ED.

Actually, I've played a Sacrifice pally through Hell, and can tell you from personal experience that Leech does NOT off-set Sacrifice damage. What I have observed is that the damage dealt to you is applied BEFORE the leeched damage is given back to your health. Thus, there is a delay involved: the 8% damage can kill you off BEFORE the leeched health is returned. Also, with the leech penalty in Hell, it's nearly impossible to leech back enough to make it work: I had more than 50% leech and I STILL got that annoying message: "X was killed by X." Try suiting up with an Exile shield and Zealing till Life Tap is cast, though, and you'll have a killer skill. Check my thread on Sacrifice pallys - the Flagellator.

Do "Damage goes to mana" items or "Damage Reduced by %" items affect the damage to self from sacrifice at all?
