Please help with Statistic Skill Layout

Hello there, my first post. I was wondering if anyone could help me with stat point layout.

180STR
120DEX
Rest into VIT
that was what I thought, but I am kinda iffy on the dex, more needed?

We kind of need more information before we can answer you...What character are we talking about... Hammerdin, Meteorb Sorc, Trapsin, Whirlwind barb... Also is this PvP or PvM... What I can say is that the standard way to assign stat points (in most cases) is enough strength to wear gear, enough dex to max block and the rest into vitality..

since this is a barb forum im guessing its a barb char ;) however that standard is prety much it like u said, zon (since dex makes dmg for bows)or sorc using skill shield not block, or chars using 2 handed weapons are the only variations i think. correct me if im wrong...i may be missing somthing

Basic stat layout for all barbarian builds:

minimum strength to wear your heaviest item (counting +str you get from items) - usually in the base-81 range

0 energy

either minimum dex to use your weapon, or dex for max block, counting the dex you get from items. Blocking requires more dex based on the shield you're using and your character level. Stormshield, the best shield a barb can get, requires 222 dex at level 99 for max block; that usually means you have between 112-172 base dex, depending on your gear.

Vitality gets everything else.

You might want to take a look at the guide sticky, since virtually every guide says the same thing.

Another variation of this is if you want to make a titan build and put as many points into str as possible to max your damage. This tends to be more pvm but can sometimes work in pvp with enough vit and life from charms and gear.
