Hey, I picked up and dusted off my pvp kicker awhile ago..she has some issues. True, she's not fully geared, but she seams...challenged.
I'm not rich enough for a ww-sin, and my trapper seems to own 9/10ths of em anyway.
Can someone link me to a contemporary kicker build, but more importantly gimme ur insight on:
1) Mind blast / Shadow Master...really needed to max? Could I skip MB altogether and get 1 in WoF?
2) Best weapons, boots, etc. these days...fury would be nice, but I'll probably go Malice and jade's for resists.
Uses shadow skillers to boost venom, wep block, and shadow life/res, right? No MA skillers? Or a blend, 6/4 or something like that?
Basicly any info here would be good, I know it's a rare class and all, but I liked her once upon a time.

If made and played right, a kicker can be very very deadly. Seek out Speederlander for info on kickers. One thing I'd repeat that I've heard him say alot is that kickers need to be specialized, an all around kicker will be a weak kicker. Choose to be melee or caster killer. In melee, they get killed pretty bad. As a caster killer, they can be downright nasty.

Where can I find this speedlander you speek of? Also, the one I have now is anti-caster, but I think I might have done him wrong. Anyway, I'l try to PM him, but does he hang around a specific formula usually?
IMO , mind blast is a one-point-wander.
shadow master - not nessesary to max too .
Weapon block - MUST to max - it will save your *** alot of times :)
About best equip :
Boots : here is only 2 choises : Upped Gore Riders or Shadow Dancers.
Armor : Bramble is best , i think , but i understand u cant afford it ...
About specializing : kicker is mage-killer , basically . It very difficult for casters to dogde 2 FPA attacks (even with 75% block) due their's low defence and (usually) low FHR rate.
Good Luck !

1 point is generally all you will need for a Shadow, I believe the general consensus on Mind Blast now is to max it. One, because your Shadow seems to use it alot more if you have a higher level MB. Two, the stun length (time the swirlies stay over the person's head) increases quite a bit thus making your job locking them easier.
One of the largest parts of the kicker is it's trap locking ability and as such you'll probably want to employ the strats that the Ghost sin and Speeder's kicker make heavy use of such as 1 pt into LS and WoF to stun them once you get an MB off. LS generally isn't used by most pubby kickers/WWers but it has much greater range than WoF so it is useful in certain fights. You can throw down an LS and a couple WoF's at the same time too.
Enigma is the only way to go for a good anti-caster kicker. Hands down. No Bramble sin will catch my necro with any sort of consistency.
Weapon block is can be left at 1 pt if you're going with a full load of Shadow Charms. WB has pretty harsh diminishing returns.

I turned my MageSlayer Kicker into a Kicker/WW hybrid by just adding chaos, fury, and starting to max claw mastery. AR on WW is still a little low for barbs and pallys. The other thing that makes for a good caster killer is max dflight, now I know what most would think about that but 2k dflight plus venom and ow... death is certain.
As for boots, the best effective/cost ratio boots imo are crafted blood mirriored boots. High damage and decent mods for an eth rune, jewel, and perfect ruby... pretty cool.
Note: SpeedLander's guide was the inspiration for my kicker.
Here's some advice (most of it i got from speederlander)
You only want 3 kicks, so lvl 17 kick AFTER ALL YOUR GEAR + ANNI + BC.
lvl 17 gives u 3 kicks at the maximum skill dmg/ar. 3 kicks is necessary because more would greatly affect ur munuverablilty (i.e. it is necesary to be fast to reapply mb/traps).
Clawblock - you need lvl 26 after all gear to get 60% block
skills: basically the only skills you need to max are venom/mb and optionally fade, get lvl 26 CB, lvl 17 dt, then 1 point in: wof, ls, shadow, df, (fade) prerequisites.
With the remaing points you can either pump shadow, claw mastery for use with a chaos for ww-ing, or traps.
Do not max DF, its pointless as it often misses because it's slow and most your dmg is Venom/OW so the physical dmg boost is not needed.
Gearwise:
claws: (alot of choices) chaos, fury, bartucs, jade(resist), rare/cruel claws
helm: 08 valk, 20fcr circlet, shako
ammy: fcr ammy, rare +2 ammys, maras
rings: ravens, fcr rings
belt: arch, verdungos
gloves: trangs, possibly dracs
boots: best are: upped gores, shadow dancers; gores, upped rares, treks, etc will also work
cta/lidless on switch
charms:
10x shadow gcs
9x life/resist/fhr scs
1x anni
prolly alot of stuff i left out since i dont play kicker anymore
Seeing as you are a kicker, strength shouldn't be much of a problem, so instead of CTA/lidless, use CTA/Spirit. 1 more skill pt.
