I have been trying to build a ww polearm build. He is completely untwinked and I have no other characters. He gets completely slaughtered in nightmare because the best item he has is a manald ring, lol. The only item I have to trade is a razortail. I have tried posting the razortail in the auctions but there have been no bids and I have tried repeatedly trading online but no one is interested in anything other than uber gear. All I am looking for is a tal's mask and some half-decent polearm like hwanin's bill. I am sure razortail is worth that, but no one is interested...any help would be mucho welcome....

Try another build that is less item dependant... sorceress, skellymancer, wind druid.. they should have a very good chance of beating the game or at the very least get you safely to nightmare mephisto where you can find the items you are looking for. While a polearm barb is a very cool character:) It's not the best starting/MF character. the above builds rely on their skills to aid them not their gear. Might take a while but it sure beats begging:)

try and pick up all the gems u can find, and cube em up to perfects
with Pgems alone, u can buy:
arreats face
bonehew ogreaxe, with 2 shaels or ias jewels for lwwbp
skullders armor
etc..

Pgems are the first step to wealth :)

Well, how about that! I know this is not a trade or begging fourm, but... Guess two of the items I found last night, and what one item my strafer has been after since the day she was born...

If you are on USEast scl, look me up. I could use some tips on ww, and I have some spare rare rings I can't bring myself to sell.

I second jordy's suggestion. I have bought most of my good stuff with pgems, using the trade forum here. There are a lot of people looking for pgems to craft and re-roll charms, etc. It was very easy to do, and everybody so far has been pretty nice, on East, at least. Start making a mule for gems and a mule for runes, drop them in a "mule parking" game or play them for 2 hours. Then give them your cube and go get a new one in normal. This has been very effective for me.

Definitely keep pgems, as others have said.

But I suggest also keeping runes you find. There's always some games looking for low runes, either for runewords or crafting.

Suprisingly, I've gotten some pretty decent stuff that way.

nm countess runs, upgrade runes which you find and are very low to nef, then upgrade middle low runes up to tal and ral, then upgrade anything else to sol/amn/thul, keep all nefs, rals, tals, sols, amns and thuls,

nefs are 3 pgems in value each
tals are 2 pgems in value each
rals are 3 pgems in value each
sols, amns and thuls are 4 pgems in value each

with a puls worth of pgems(40 pgems) you can get pretty much any decent item(shako and skulders and stormshield all go for about a pul) in about 1 or 2 hours worth of nm countess runs you can get enough for 40 pgems worth
