Surviving Hell

My current barbarian seems to die at the drop of a hat in hell. I would like to build a barbarian whose primary concern is surviving. Ultimately, I want him able to solo the ancients in hell. What skills/stats/gear should I be focussing on?

Go Whirwind based IK Barb!

Max mace mastery, whirlwind, battle orders, shout, and iron skin. 1 point in berzerk, natural resistance, battle command are nice too.

Go with concentrate barb, that's the ultimate in barb survivability and there's a brilliant guide... check the stickies.

Check Hal's guide for conc. The only problem with conc is you kill slowly but you are pretty much immortal even without super godly gear.

Berserk is a sweet skill too, but you need a good high damage weapon to make it work really well. I just tanked Talic in Hell with 1 point in Berserk (dual-wielding Whirlwind build).

This was my setup, and I just walked through hell pretty easily. The only time I died was when Lord de Seis got a lucky sucker punch in, but that bastard and his cronies are at the top of my hitlist now! :D

I only hit about 4000 WW Damage, but it tears through pretty much anything in Hell, minions included! :thumbsup:
