View Full Version : Rune Word: Splendor?

I was running around on US-East today, and someone showed me a Necro-shield (preserved head type deal), which had been Runed up (Eth-Lum) and had formed the rune word "Splendor", which, among other bonuses, gave a +1 to all skills...

My question is, is this a legitimate runeword? If I grab myself a Necro-head with two open sockets and the right runes, can I actually make this thing? Or was it a hacked/bugged/bad kind of toy?

Yes, it's a legitimate runeword. Necro heads are classed as shields, just like paladin only shields. So, it's possible to find, say, a necro head with +3 bone spear on it, and then use splendor on it, and get +4 bone spear (and +1 for the rest of the skills).

As always, remember that the item you wish to create the runeword in isn't blue (magical), green (set), orange (crafted), yellow (rare) or gold (unique). As long as the item is grey, it'll be able to be runeworded with an appropriate runeword.

All the runewords can be found at http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runewords.shtml

Thanks!

I was looking at an out-dated runeword list, so no wonder I was confuzzled! :)

Just an F.Y.I.

Keep in mind that if you find a normal non-socketed item (white text item) you can use the cube and socket recipe to add sockets to the item. That gives you more options for usable runeword items. By the way here's a link to the cube recipes:
