well im not really new to diablo but.. yeah.. lol
anyways... question number one
umm well i was wondering why everyone plays ladder.. what is the big difference.. all i know is that non-ladder doesnt have some items and runewords and stuff like that but you can get stuff easier and ladder has special items and runewords but its hard to get stuff and there are seasons and stuff like that... my friends all play on non-ladder but i heard ladder is "so much better" i dont get it
and also.. i've been playing HC in privite groups with my friends but it doesnt seem to be organized at all.. people are leveling really fast and some people are trying to catch up and such and end up dieing.. how can i organize a group?

umm well i was wondering why everyone plays ladder.. and also..
My theory:
All the 24/7 type players play ladder for the sake of running the ladder and/or being able to get all items. This draws the slightly more casual players to the ladder as well so they can play with the big boys so to speak, which results in fewer players on nl, which results in more on ladder, and so on.
So the big draw to ladder (at least on HC) is that isn't a barren wasteland devoid of players.
The other major draw to ladder is that whenever it gets wiped it's like starting fresh on a brand new realm. This is fun to most people, especially the legit ones. After it's become stagnated (as it has been this season since about October) it's true that item-wise there is no huge difference between the two, especially since season 1 ended and a large amount of ladder only items are now available in NL. However there's also no particular reason to move BACK to NL at that point either as it's a question of playing a godly invincible character with a large player pool vs playing a godly invincible character without a large player pool.
As to your second question, I'm not really sure what you're asking.

well for team HC its hard to stay together as in levels and equipment and acts and the such

The way to keep a team together in terms of quests/levels/equipment is play together as much as possible (generally at scheduled times), pool all equipment, and only play apart (including MF runs) if a person happened to miss a session and needs to catch up.
If that's not what you guys are doing you're more just a group of friends who happen to play together and not really a team.

ok thanks.. if we are the "friends-who-happen-to-just-play-with-each-other" type then i guess we kinda have to play pubbies right?
does ladder have less pking? i would think more.. because of the competion.. but im probably wrong cuz i never played ladder before

Couldn't say as I've never played NL, but there is a large amount of tppking on ladder and there probably is less on NL.

U are correct, there's more pking in LAD. Due to more players there. PK not becos of competition, but simply those stupid s'holes have nothing to do. They are only capable of bullying chars who are much much low lv than them. I am not sure whether this is the case in NM or HELL. But heard that the suitation is better.
