Best merc leveling area?

I have a level 84, merc 83, LF/PJ javazon. She is accompanied by an act 2 defiant merc that carries the meditation aura scythe that does pretty decent damage; about 800-1200. What I am interested in doing is leveling up the characters until the merc is level 85 and able to wear Gladiators Bane. It is my thought that with maxed resists achieved by wearing Tal's mask and enough life leech; and with a high defiance aura, wearing the G-Bane armor will make the merc pretty much a very difficult fellow to kill.

My question is where is the best spot to do this leveling? I can join parties doing Baal runs but he doesn't seem to advance very much there. There are a lot of areas but I want one where he will do most of the killing and thusly level up the fastest. Any suggestions? Cows? Where???

Well your merc cant level much more until you do. A javazon tends to do a lot of the killing in a baal run so he really should lvl right along with you. If you really want him to lvl right away do pindle or eld runs.

bah... you dont even have to restrict yourself to runs... just go out and kill stuff in act 5! For javazons, i always liked the frozen river/glacial trail. There are very few lightning immunes down there.

all the areas mentioned above work great. dont forget about hell cows tho iether. i love lvling my javs merc there after a few hundred baal runs. exp there is decent and sooooo much good trinkets to find (charms,jewels,runes,gems,sockatables). of course you could run any tc 85 area that dosnt have too many light immunes, and that would boost ur mercs exp considerably.

ot: HI STEVE!!! havent seen you around lately. how have u been? how is hawii loking this time of year. i might sell my house and move to kuai (sp?) with my sister (if im lucky enuff to get out of the states soon, ill be surprised). anyway shoot me a pm sometime.....or heres a thought: COME BACK TO WEST HCL!!!!!

The Pit is pretty good for LF/PJ zons... slap on some mf gear and you'll be rather productive while lvling up.

Don't mercs get exp based on how much you get? so if your already too high a level, the merc aint gunna get much exp.

I personally just go into baal games and have my merc kill all the pindle minions. They give quite a bit of exp if your merc is at a close level and can kill them relatively fast. In fact, i usually do this norm, nm, hell...

I know for sure that if you let your merc kill them, the merc gets more exp than if you do. Depending on how fast you can kill... will depend on what type of run. I usually just go into pindle's garden, weaken the monsters so that merc can kill them in 1-2 hits, and then go off on a Shenk/Eldritch mf run (usually in full/close to full games)
