I read a thread where an ik barb fought a phys and mag immune zombie in hell a2. Since berserk couldn't hurt it, and he was using ik maul, the elemental dmg eventually killed the zombie.
Now, I'm wondering, if a berserk using barb with no decent source of elemental dmg in hell, no elemental weapons in stash or switch, if amp damage curse isn't enough to remove physical immunity of a monster with phys and mag immune mods, how will the barb kill it? (I know these situations are extremely rare, but I like to have the ability to kill any monster in the game at any given time with my current set up)
p.s. also no merc
Would you really have to kill it? You could just leap away. It's a bit rare to have a build that can kill anything based on skills alone. Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Avenger, Magezon, Archmage, and possibly Hammerdin.
If you want to be able to kill everything you'll just need a high elemental damage weapon... or perhaps something with Enchant.

I'm going to burst your bubble for hammerdin, sorry. Hammerdins can't kill wailing beasts with hammers, but he can use smite or something if he's alone, but usually most hammerdins have a decent merc with him, so I guess he can kill everything (with a merc of course); hmmm, I proved myself wrong but I don't wanna change anything...

in that case and if you fail to have a good elemental damage weapon on hand, say a gimmershred in your stash ;) ;) then its not to hard to shop for weapons with 1-400 lightning damage on them. so you could get 1 or 2 of those and pummel away, also hit the monster first with something with prevent monster heal. too easy

Think it has too be something like a stoneskin ghost or similar monster type. Not sure how one of those would get too be magic immune though.

hey, how did you get that yellow icon thingy that said list of trader's trades?
i was thinking maybe a act2 zombie or undead mummy, but this hypothetical situation is just something to make you think...

Copy and paste the number from the end of your rpgtraders page into your profile where it says.
Something that has very high physical resistance or immunity already+ receives stoneskin mod. Amp removes 20% physical resist from immunes (its at 1/5 effectiveness vs immunes), sometimes they will still have over 100% with it on. Ghosts,Gloams, Some types of frenzytaurs, hell temptress, Ghoul lords are just some types.Also possessed physical immunes cannot be cursed.

I guess I have been lucky and have never really run into any of these.
Whoever said gimmershards should look into a banaras. It has nice ele damage, but also alot of speed & massive +ar. Most 1.09, earlier, and present fury druids keep a 'shael' banaras & timats shield on switch just for physical immunes such as these, their killing power vrs them is their speed, and for a barb, banaras > gimmer in speed and all stats, thus making it easier for them to kill em.

that is so druid lol before this patch almost all wereform druids used that combo vs PI monsters.
