View Full Version : Cubing High Runes (Dupe Question)
I have a question that has been on my mind for some time.
Many high runes that we trade for (even on forums) go *POOF* eventually since nearly all of them are dupes.
If we have two supposed "DUPED" Runes (for example 2 Bers) and transmute them using the cube, is it now considered a legit JAH? or will it go POOF anyways?
Any input would be helpful

it still can poof. (therefore I wouldn't keep many High Runes except you want to build a R/W)
btw. is this legal talk right now, or is it already against the rules? :-.
I dont think its against the rules... People on the forums are the people trading these runes - I just wanted to know how/ if there was a way to make them legit!

k
i've heard, that socketing them makes them a lil safer, because then they only disappear, when a ruststorm is active, but there are no proofs of that being true or just some voodoo superstition. All i can say, is that no rune i traded ever poofed on me after being socketed into an item...

Nono. Rust storm is an active anti-hack measure. It's just a fancy way of saying it. When a rune is put into a socketed item, which does not have an item ID because they are so common and often ignored, it loses its traceable ID. Upgrading runes will also change the ID, so go on and cube those duped runes, cause they won't go anywhere once upgraded.
[edit] For those of you that want tangible evidence of my claims, think of duped ed/ias and ed/max jewels put into armors and weapons. Even back 1.09, if you had two of the same duped jewel in the game and one left before the other without perming, the second one would disappear. But not when put in a weapon. Rust storm and the coming of 1.10 also did not get rid of 160/60 armors etc.
