I was just running my Trav Barb around in Hell a bit when the SOJ counter went off twice in relatively close succession. Now the dang thing is stuck on 4053... so everyone go sell a Stone or two dammit!
This is East server 143 by the way.
Oh, and for those keeping track at home, I finally rolled my eth 'Oath' CS to 322%... does 164-443 one-handed, 384-763 two-handed... broke the curse without Sip's help, thank you very much. It's a WW/Hork build meant mostly for Trav runs, but he also works surprisingly well for The Pit, or really any area with lots of Demons and no IM. The build is pretty cheap too, and I haven't chugged a red or purple since running most of Hell solo. The hardest part, really, is keeping my Merc alive through a barrage of Hydras.

Im in a game MFING and the soj counter must have gone off at least 25 times now . How long does it go before he walks he earth ?

There really isn't any set number of times it has to go off. I think I heard something about a certain number of SOJ's needed to be sold, maybe like 100 or so, but I'm just going on rumors and a fuzzy memory for that one.
Best bet is to just sit tight and hope it goes off. As long as the counter keeps moving, he should still have a chance to spawn.
Edit: By number of SOJ's sold, I don't mean how many times the counter moves, I mean how much the counter increases collectively. Like, say, having the counter move from 3100 sold to 3200 sold.

There's usually ~100-200 sojs between spawns iirc.
That said, you never know what the number is already at (unless you've been hanging out in an irc channel or something where they keep track) so the number of "Sojs sold to merchants" messages could be one or two more to spawn him or another hundred.
Of course if 25 got sold in a short amount of time it *probably* means that a group of people has decided they're going to make him walk on that server so if you want an anni you should stick around there.

Well I gave up . I was in the game for about 40 minutes waiting but Im eating dinner now so I give up . Good luck to anyone that spawns him ...
it takes 75-125 sojs to be sold before a clone walks. If you find a game that is selling like crazy, i would reccomend you stay in it. Even if you have to wait for an entire day, it will probably walk...because people dont usually just sell 30 sojs and forget about an ip. It will start a chain reaction and other people will sell sojs, granted they are greedy and they can find a normal difficulty (usually softcore non-ladder) sell game.

I still dont believe it has anything to do with "selling" SOJ. I know i have only found 2 SOJ since day1 of this game, and i wouldnt sell them just to up the dclone counter. I think its the biggest blizzard joke of all time. Somone take a screenshot of them selling a soj to a vendor, and i want to see the soj counter go up in the same screenshot.

Some people did an extensive study in one of the other forums here (forget which). They spawned him 8 times in a row by selling sojs on the same server (new games each time, obviously).

People dupe. People dupe SOJs. People have hundreds of SOJs on hand. Selling them works. Dupers have lots of Annihilus charms. I'm jealous.

Just think of how many duped SOJ's there were/are on non-ladder. No one can dupe SOJ's on ladder.
BTW, found my first SOJ ever last night from Andy. Since this is on chcl, I probably use it to socket some gosu rare, once I find one :P

This becomes a monologue, but I have to say this. Found another SOJ, wtf, yesterday I had never found any, now I have two.
Perhaps I need to consider of building a classic sork for hf-boosting/soj farming for next season ~~
