After the first 2 blizzard scene things, it crashes. I've tried putting "skiptobnet" in the directory but it just crashes a second into the bnet menu. There was another guy on the battle.net forums but he could'nt figure out anyway to fix it. Anyone else know/have this, and have any idea whats causing it? Recently it hasn't happened if i get on diablo RIGHT after i restart my computer. If i wait an hour or so afterwards, i get the problem.
I had a similar problem ages ago, except when Diablo finally loaded to the title screen, everything was plain unreadable and slow as a snail in molassas. It ended up being my video card. Make sure you have the latest drivers, and that they are DirectX and Direct3D compatible, and that it's at least 8MB of video RAM.
The only other thing I can think of is your system memory. How much RAM do you have?

I'm running an nVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 with AGP8x, 64MB, and i've got 1GB of RAM. I've also got all the latest drivers and directx 9. I know it can't be my computer, and i've reinstalled twice, using a brand new cd (my "friend" lost of mine so far). Although it's nothing close to losing an account or my characters, its still very annoying to have to close and save everything im doing, restart, and THEN get on to diablo.
When i do get on, I leave diablo on at the bnet menu and alt+tab out, but when i go back in maybe a half hour later its frozen again or it crashes.

Aright guys, I might have fixed this problem. So far the window mode has worked, though i've only been using it for a few days, and the smallness of the window is kinda annoying, but it works. My friend said he had a similar problem where D2 would crash during the blizzard screens, he said he's almost positive the problem is to uncheck the "send data report" box when you install. Supposively this fixed his problem, I'll try it sometime, but for now im too lazy to reinstall.
Thanks everyone who helped.
