View Full Version : Str for a basic skelemancer?
Hi all
How much strength should I have with my pvm, sc skelemancer?
I plan 0 dex, no block, running behind my skel warriors and skel mages, casting CE and amp dmg ... that's all :)
I read somewhere 115 str ... (Guillaume Face?)
?
thx for help and suggestions

Depends on your gear and +str from items. Aim for at least 118 for marrows.

Depends on the equipment you plan on using...I usually go with either 85 or 100 personally.

Probably the fishymancer guide, IMO a gface would go much better on your merc than on you. I still don't understand why nightfish decided that the necro should wear one over the merc wearing one.

Was that because he said if you wanted to get into the action you could equip Crushing blow gear with a 6 sock phase blade and get right in there and whack Baal down to a sliver and then switch back to MF gear? ....

One of my summoners is at level 89, and I haven't placed a pt on str... all pts are coming from my equipment and charms. Everything has been placed on Vitality and I have 50 stat pts remaining just in case I screw it up.
I'm wearing a BP Enigma, which is giving me 66 str at lev 89, and he's wearing a +3 Summoning/+26 str magic ammy... rare belt w/+11 str... Shako w/+2 str... and a Small Charm w/+2 str... I have a total of 122 str. without needing to place a pt on my stat's str.
Since most str pts are coming from my low str BP Enigma and ammy, I have no fear of my char 'popping' and losing his equipment if he should get killed.
Just make sure that you don't wear any high str requirement items, and you will be safe from 'popping'. My highest str req. item on my summoner is a Boneflame (95 str), so I can actually lose some str and still be alright.
This was a test that is working out very nicely.
Thx all for your replies :)
and whatabout mana/nrg?
as I will use CE, I guess that I will need a big mana pool ...

I know why he said it, but I don't see the advantage over a merc wearing it instead.

Unless you cannot get a decent boost to mana in gear it's usually advisable to stay away from energy. You may have to suffer a bit low lvl, but mana pots (which can now be bought) help. 2 life > 2 mana IMO, and usually when your a decent level mana isn't a problem (as you gain mana naturally as you level)

Agree... I'd stay away from putting pts into energy. Just use pots.
It is a little irratating to have only 449 mana, but if I can buy/find pots and instead put the pts into Vitality, I'd rather do that.
I'm hoping to find ways, with equipment or charms, to get more mana.

If you could post your equip and charms that would be helpful. No pts in str is effective but not really necesary. You dont need all the life you can get so those vit pts can be spared.
As for nrg, like the others adviced, leave nrg at base. Just stock up on blue pots in your belt and you should be fine.
