Hi, I'm playing a poisonmancer right now and have managed to get a hold of a homonculus and found a thunder gods vigor belt. which would be better the current setup or trangs belt and shield ?? the - 25% poison resistance would be nice but the homonculus has more ra, mana reg. and + 2 to summons means my golem dies alot less. also the war vigor belt makes me damn near immune to lightning which is really nice. Also this necro is nearing retirement @ level 84 and I'm making a fishymancer right after would this skill setup work

1 in all curses exept LR 20 RS 20SM 1 in Revive 1 in rest exept fire golem
20 in CE 1 in bone wall and bone armor now the question is how will i do if i dump any remaining points in GM and instead of a CG use Iron Golem made out of an etheral Bone snap or other average abundant uniques will he help with killing and be a good tank I would think so because of the crushing blow
the point being is it worth it dumping 15+ in GM for the Iron ?? or should i just dump 5/5 GM /CG let the + skills do the rest

edit : I don't have the trangs yet but am trading for it as we "speak" :)

Trang's would be better. There are a lot of monsters out there with high Poison Resistance. You will need the -%Enemy resist to allow you to kill fast.

The mana boost is nice and the +summoning is also beneficial, but they are not as useful as the boost in damage. Since Poison needs to be applied every 2 seconds you can do without the mana regen. Also if monsters die faster you will need less mana and your Golem will stay alive longer.

IG can make for a very nice tank. He will give you some nice back-up damage and help with tough targets. IG suffers from a slow attack speed. As a result he will be most useful against targets that stay alive long enough for him to hit them. Things like bosses. Be aware that IG can get lost. It will cost you your item.

Whether it is worth spending 15 points on, that is something you will need to determine for yourself. IG is not the popular choice, if that is what you want to know. Most people prefer Clay for his simplicity and because he requires just 1 point if you have about +8 skills.
IG can be very valuable to you. With proper investment he can be a great help. The question is if you are willing to try something atypical?

It all depends on how well this setup will work preferably I'd like to hear from people who have done this. I know it is harder and that I'll end up losing some good items in the end. I guess I'll just have to see since I'll be maxing RS SM and CE first in this order of course 1 in the usefull curses asap. anything left over will probably go into GM anyway regardless of whether I use gumpy or Iron. Once I have a few extra uniques with low trade value ie
BoneSnap and Hone Sudan I'll try it out the Iron Golem can be a potentially better helper although requires more skill. but again i welcome feedback from people who have done this.

Rather than post a new thread for an equipment question I'll just bump this one up and hopefully somebody will give me advice for a new problem ;-)
Anyway NM Baal dropped my first HoZ a few days ago, I ran him about 20 times more and he dropped crap... just when I thought he dried up he felt generous and dropped me my first Harlequin Crest, :( now the agonizing choice.... Shako or Andies Visage ?? if my Poison resist was'nt only 7 in hell the choice would be obvious...... ARG help me decide the agony is unbearable both have +2 skills the shako has a whopping 124 + life and mana dr and mf but Andies has more def stats and 70% pr which i really need. The - 30 FR doesnt matter to me because I have well over 75 in hell anyway.

Poison Resist can be adequately dealt with by using an Antidote potion. Just keep 1 or 2 in your inventory and take one when you think you need them. From all resistances Poison is the least important. If you take this into account, you could be better off with the Shako.
