View Full Version : Poison Merc: Recommended Golem and Merc?

Pretty straightforward. I've been leaning toward an Act 2 Defiance Merc [since Necro doesn't get any +def spells] using Eth Hone Sundan and IK Maul Iron Golem since Poison isn't the best against bosses, even with the -46 DWeb and 3 Trang setup I have...although, last time I used Eth Hone Sundan I found CB to be much less effective as some people say it is.

Any recommendations from personal experience? I'll be mainly running pits with him but as well all know they get boring so variety is always good.

Unfortunatly I'm in the dark as to what HoS and Gumby mean ;p

gumby=clay golem

hos is his name (harbinger)

and cb is useful if you stack em. duress, guillame's (15 ias jOOl), hone sundan (2x shael/amn) gives a decent attack speed and massive cb; bosses should go down quickly.

and i vote might merc if you have some skellies

Geez I'm a tard about that HoS thing, haha.

Anyway, thanks. I've got my Eth Hone thingy BerShaelShael'd, I'll probably have him wearing that, Gulliam's Face and a 25% DR Leviathan or Upgraded Shaftstop.

Dont' forget to cast decrep on the boss. Your poison will still deal damage w/o LR, and i'd rather have a boss that hardly moves and takes a little less damage from me than a boss that can still attack reasonably well and takes more damage.

If you're ladder, how abt a merc with the infinity runeword that gives a conviction aura. Does conviction reduce poison resistance?

If you're switching to running bosses, switching to a might merc would speed up the process too right.

nope

Yeah, but switching a merc would be a time consuming process :eek:

Holy freeze would be fine for the mobs, and might won't speed up the boss kill that much, CB is what does most of the killing.

I think I read somewhere that Conviction takes of immunities rather than lowering elemental resistence.

It does both, but on immunes the lowering of resistance is at a 1/5 effectiveness penalty.
