Tonight I decided to be smart and organize my items so I didn't have my main char's cluttered with stuff.
So I tossed everything down and started organizing.
After picking up my armors, runes and rings/ammy's I realized the weapons I'd thrown down were gone.
As well as approx. 50 perfect gems.
Poofed. Disappeared. Just gone.
Has anyone had this happen? The person I was transferring with is a long time friend.. swears he didn't touch anything.. so. I'm beyond ticked right now.
( Before anyone suggests no they could not have been duped, the few items I threw down weapon-wise anyway were found by me. Two wizspikes, occy and a bonehew. )
sounds like you were muling quite alot of items.
items will decay after some time when you place them on the ground.
different times for different items. (sorry i dont remember where i saw the times)
but i guess this is what happend.

yep, whenever i do a big mule like that i often end up losing something due to disappearing or getting realm down. i think charms might be some of the first to poof..
my advice: pick up the better items first :)

Plasmo done some tests awhile ago, and the results he got were:
Gone in 10 minutes: normal items, socketed items, magic items, potions, keys, scrolls, tomes
Gone in 20 minutes: gems, runes, jewels
Gone in 30 minutes: rares, uniques, sets
Gone in 60 minutes: gold

The items can disappear after being left on the ground for a while. Thats why sometimes when you enter cow games, you see no items on the floor but all the cows are dead.

Well..
That really seriously sucks. -laughs-
Thank gods I was smart enough to pick up all the special armor type items first.. then my runes and set pieces. Cuz losing a whole Tals set would have really not made my day. LOL
Orphan.. thank you for the time set-ups.. I'll be a lot more careful now.
And yeah I was xfer'ing a lot of items.. over 50 p-gems alone.

A couple nights ago I was muling a +2 rare amulet with resists to my necro. I dropped it on the ground with my mule, joined the game with my necro and it was gone. I was only out of the game for 10 seconds and I gambled it, so it was legit.

A couple days ago i was muling and I lost my runeowrd bow(crappy oen with 15% vendor thing) I was pissed that was my 1337 gamble bow it was only on the ground for less than 5 minutes. But thats the way it goes.
I just lost a 3 socket Archon Plate that I was going to make a Wealth out of... :( I feel even worse because I accused the person I was muling with... :( :( :(

Yup, never mule too many items at once. If they don't vanish because they're on the ground for too long already, then there's always a chance something likes this happens:

Note that this is not a screenshot made by me. I'm not that stupid. :)
