Planning to make a PvP S/S WW Barb lvl 50, and I was wondering having magic damage reduced around 100 would be useful?
Where can I find the right order of resistances - PvP penalty - mag dmg red?

P.s. Can anyone tell me if it's true that battle orders doesn't give you extra life from vitality you get from your equipment? Thank you for replying

Magic damage reduction is quite useless in pvp.It is the very first reduction in the chain.A 10k blizzard-100 from that wont help you a lot.AFAIK this is the order:
1) -x magic damage / - damage
2) Resistance
3) absorb
4) 1/6 PvP penalty.
So stack up on resists & absorb.
@Turin:Its true,+Vitality & Life per level isnt doubled by BO.

Magic damage reduction is quite useless in pvp.It is the very first reduction in the chain.A 10k blizzard-100 from that wont help you a lot.AFAIK this is the order:
1) -x magic damage / - damage
2) Resistance
3) absorb
4) 1/6 PvP penalty.
So stack up on resists & absorb.
@Turin:Its true,+Vitality & Life per level isnt doubled by BO.

Hate to be correcting you again, but looking at some posts at the AB forums convinced me that this is the right order:
1. PvP penalty (17%)
2. (magic) damage reduce by x
3. resists
4. absorb
This is not the full list, but it'll do for barbarians.

My list was in alphabetical order. :D (was from 1.09 pvp faq I believe)
& I thought you were making corrections on my guide,where is it?

Something went slightly wrong with the avatars. Re-uploading seems to help.
Edit: Yours is messed up too, and the User CP errors out right now. We'll just have to be patient.

Nat's Armor [3x mal]and boots, 21+15
String of Ears 15
Gerke's Sanctuary [mal] 25
Crescent Moon 10
2x Dwarf Star 30
(the weapon is an eth highlandblade with oath)
Or should I go for dmg gear with ed jewels and all?
Any suggestions? I like speed with cat's eye and m'avina's belt...
Griswold's Armor with 3 ed dmg / str jewels in it? (looks awesome, and yes that does matter to me)
Sanctuary runeword? (slow miss looks useful from my point of view)

I thought you'd figure it out,its still not worth it.The reduction is second in order.Try to go for resists & absorb, they are further down the chain & therefore have a larger influence on dmg,you have compromised gear totally & the returns do not justify such arrangement.

I am guessing your goal is to deal with bone necros/hammerdins?
You could use a safety shield with 5-10% magic resists and 1-2 mdr fixed mods with a possible 1-3 mdr spawn mod which then can be socketed with a mal instead of Gerkes. Best would be a mal'ed safety shield with 10% mr and 12 mdr. You give up 13 hard mdr but as long as the damage is after pvp penalty is 130+ a safety shield is better. This would give your build 110 mdr and 10% mr instead of your flat 123 mdr.
Assuming 4k damage:
pvp = 680
123 mdr with 0% mr = 557
110 mdr with 10% mr = 513

For the record, does magic dmg reduced actually reduce "magical" damage, as in bone spirit, hammers and berserk, besides elemental dmg?
"Magic damage reduced" reduces the dmg done by fire/cold/lightning/magical attacks.
