when to enter nightmare

I'm just wondering when you guys would recomend to enter nightmare, I keep reading things that say enter nightmare at level forty to forty five, but I have always gone straight there after beating baal at anywhere between 25-35. I was just wondering what you guys though, it just seemed kind of weird to me.

I generally wait till about 45, but then again i mainly play hardcore. Plus norm baaling gets you up to lvl 40 quite fast. Although, NM is still fairly easy at the lower 30's. I guess its just up to the player.

40 minimum - if you have exceptionally good gear.

45 If you have average gear.

The reason we wait till 40 -

Basically its really easy to level up from 25-40 by doing normal Baal runs, in fact you can usually get a level every run.

So you can easily go from 25-40 in half an hour to an hour tops.

If you goto hell at level 25 you wont get all your experience points as the monster levels will be slightly higher than you.

Also at level 40 you can get a mate to rush you to the 3x Baba quest and you can go straight onto doing NM Baal Runs.


Its probably a bit different if you dont have someone to rush you and you are playing the game purely on enjoyment factor and doing all the quests that you may want to go there as early as 35.

Generally people lower than 35 will struggle in NM unless they have good gear - remember most of the semi decent gear has a minimum character level of around level 39-44

That is why ppl wait till then as well as they can enter NM with semi uber gear.

Lvl 40 is the best but I usually do it until I find someone who will rush me straight through hell.

train more in norm, get better skills, gear, gold, and pwn nightmare a1-2 once you get there. I almost never go earlier than level 40 (37 was my earliest ever--back when we did bloody foothills and i got bored with those) and that's only if i'm terribly bored with baal runs. generally i call 45 the magic number.

that may create a lot of problems for yourself for some reasons
1. you will not achieve the ancients quest unless you gain 10-5 levels while playing
2. walking out into the blood moor at lvl 30 in nm is rather dangerous.
for me, its either 42, or 47
