Socketing Etheral Ettin Axe

Hi, I have just starting to play diablo again. When searching my mules i found that I had an Etheral Superior Ettin axe unsockeded. And I said to myself "this would be a good Oath(Shael + Pul + Mal + Lum) weapon for my zealot". I problem is, it needs four sockets and AFIK socketing quest will give you max number of sockets(=5 for ettin).

Question 1 is: Is there any way I can give it only four sockets?
(I dont remember where or when(what lvl) I found it)

Question 2 is: If it isnt any way to give it 4, is it worth giving it 5 for someother runeword or should i trash it?

No. Socket recipe doesnt work with eth items (even if they are superior) or superior items. If do the sockets quest u get 5 sockets from larzuk!

Question 2 is: If it isnt any way to give it 4, is it worth giving it 5 for someother runeword or should i trash it?

No if u want to fight with it! U can make Beast for comandomancer (usage of aura only) but u cant use it since it cant be repared! But making a beat is aways better to make in a 5 socket BA (non eth though) so in my opinion is useless!

Q1. Unfortunately cubing it for sockets is not an option since it is Superior.
Q2. Bringing it to Larzuk for 5 sockets gives you the option to create

This is a very nice weapon for a Zealot and you can zeal at the following speeds:

Fanaticism lvl36-lvl43:
0% IAS: 6fpa
15% IAS: 5fpa
80% IAS: 4fpa

Fanaticism lvl27-lvl35:
0% IAS: 6fpa
20% IAS: 5fpa
80% IAS: 4fpa

Fanaticism lvl23-lvl26:
0% IAS: 6fpa
20% IAS: 5fpa
85% IAS: 4fpa

Fanaticism lvl16-lvl22:
0% IAS: 6fpa
20% IAS: 5fpa
90% IAS: 4fpa

If I use this runeword I will probably only go for the 5 fps.

There is a cube recipe to add sockets to a normal (white) item with normal quality. This one will roll between 1-6 sockets, then cap it at the maximum number for the item (based on type and ilvl as usual).

So, if Larzuk would lets say give 4 sockets, the cube will give 1-4, with 1/6 chance for 1, 2 and 3, and 3/6 chance for 4.

Using a War Spike [WIAS -10] and if Fanaticism is maxed you will need 40% IAS for a 4 fpa Zeal.
A bit of a letdown with War Spikes is the much lower average damage than Ettin Axes / Small Crescents / Berserker Axes and the Death RW begs for a powerful base weapon.
Optimal choice would be an Ethereal Berserker Axe which will require 60% IAS to swing a Zeal at 4 frames and at the same time will provide lots of damage.
