I may have posted this before, but Im going to again just to see.

I have a delirum Conquerer helm on my a5 barb merc, and I notice that he does great with it. He cast confuse enough to allow me to run past everyone toward the Pits...anyway Once in a great while he gets his 1% delirum, and he does not turn into a stygian. He does not turn into anything. Infact he just dissappears from my screen (could be a display error). This is not all either. Not only is he invisible, but he will just sit there. The only way I can tell his location is by the automap and by watching enemies flock around and beat on a clear spot on the ground. No matter where I go or what I do, he just sits there. If I go back to town he just sits there and than I can see that he is a stygian. If I go back through a portal/Waypoint he again just does nothing for another minute or so. When delirum wears off, you think he would do something...no he will sit for at least another minute. I have used this helm on 3 different barb mercs. Has anyone else had this problem or do other act mercs work fine with delirum?

Thanks

J

There have been a few posts along these lines. One about 2-3 weeks ago detailed problems where the game they were in would crash when their merc casted delerium.

Though, in a post I made regarding delerium others said they have no problem with putting delerium on their mercs. Unfortunately, I am not "rich" enough to afford a delerium helm (I just got my first ist on ladder, too bad most of my chars are NL), so I cannot offer any personal experience regarding this problem. But, it does seem that the helm gets a bit buggy when put on mercs- I doubt Blizzard considered merc equipping when they added this runeword. It is the only Item that gives your character/merc a non-character orginating skill, which might complicate things further.

I would suggest trying the helm on a different merc on a different character of yours and see if you have the same problem then. The bug might be related to specific character-merc combinations, or just to a specific merc type. If you still experience problems then, maybe try loaning it to a friend and have them try it out to see if they experience the same problem with their mercs- it might be a system error then on your computer/program. Maybe reinstalling D2 might work.

Anyone who knows more about this please post, as I am quite interested in this too. Thanks-

Abba Zabba, you're my only friend.

I've used it on several Act 2 mercs without a problem. They killed a hell of a lot faster when they turned into the Bone Fetishes, too.

The only solution to your problem that I can think of, is to try and reinstall the game. Maybe you got a corrupted animation file or something of that sort.

Sorry about the double post, just want to post my findings.

I tested a Delirium out on an act5 merc on singleplayer, and I see what you mean. Sometimes, when he would get transformed, he would be an unmoving bone fetish, and other times, he would just be invisible and also unmoving. In both cases, the monsters just seem to ignore him standing there.

Thanks for looking into that. I would have tested already on another merc, but I only have 2 characters at the moment, and both have barb mercs. It seems after this to be specific to act 5 mercs. To make matters worse the helm in question is a Conquerer crown which is barb specific. Maby Ill try and make another one, but then ill just have to re-make gear for an a2 buddy. Eternity eth CB and Delrum make for some costly replacements, but Ive been looking at a crecent moon etheral polearms....

Thanks for all the help again
