Hi, Im making a fb/es sorc
my question is should I get max block with stormshield (great against bowazons and chargers) or 200 cast with spirit (i heard this was the best option)
stormshield: Pros:
max block
good cold/light res
good dr
cons:
105 cast
no poison res like on spirit
no 55% fhr
lower energy point and more into dex
Spirit: Pros:
55 fhr
35 cast
good overall res
+mana +vitality
+extra points into energy
cons: no block
no dr
i really want to have 200 cast but i want a cast shield.. which should i choose for pvp? is 105 still effective as 200 cast?

I'd go with 200 and put extra points in vita instead of using all of the dexterity and strength on stormshield. I had a lightning sorc with max block with a hel'd stormshield with not as much fcr and ended up with around 780 life. I would rather go with 200 fcr and more vita than max block with ss. And you don't have to use Enigma for plus strength and you can wear other armors so its a bit more flexible.
Go 200FCR, with ES, 200 Cast, and all that you won't be hit that much. If you're rich, go all mana and cover your life with skillers with high life on em. My sorc is running the same... and it seems to work great for her.

Alright thanks for the replies.
So what equipt do I have to get to reach 200?
40 hoto
30 vper
34 my current spirit
20 rings
20 gloves
20 belt
20 helm
10 ammy
194 cast... ?? can ammy be 20? should i really sacrifice my sojs and maras for cast? what about shako? is it worth sacrificing damage/life/defense/mana for more cast?

Well first off if you are going faster cast I'd suggest not worrying as much about skills.
Wizspike > Hoto, 10 more FCR lotta mana and resists (helps with esheild)
Helm IIRC 25 for griffons so get a perf spirit and that'll get you to 200 easier
Really tho, I would just go for 115% FCR (still buggy below that %). Easily attainable with wizspike, spirit, magefists and vipermagi.
Then you can get a shako, 2 SoJ's (or a raven if you are dueling anything cold based).
115% FCR is plenty fast unless you are planning on using the lit tree.

ummm ... for eshield sorc hoto > wiz by alot
and resists dont matter for eshield sorc since you will end up running out of mana well before life (only acception is poison), and your shield takes resists at -100% no matter what your real resists are.
the extra mana from a wiz does not overcome the other mods / skills it lacks and that hoto has. also, you must make an investment into dex for wiz, which brings down the ammount you can put into energy, im not 100% sure of the #'s but you get 4 mana per energy i think, then that gets multiplied by your bo, so i would think that a sorc with hoto would actually end up with the same mana pool as once with wiz, but hoto would give you more dmg / warmth.
and griffs, not for a fire sorc, go with a magic +3 fire skills circlet with 20%Fcr and 3 sockets, put in 3 5/5 facets and your set for a helm.
and as a side note, the only sorc to beat my es/fb sorc (i have 105% bp) is a 200% one iwth no eshield, i couldnt hit her, she teled too fast lol, but it took 4 consecutive hits to break my shield.
another side point :uhhuh:
get max poison resist, that and open woulds are the only things that bypass your eshield, so max poison resist is a must, its easiest to do this with just some 11% poison resist scs / anni.
basically, watch out for anyone that does high poison dmg, ww sins can be tough because of claw block, most of the time you can tank them and just pound them with fb's while they ww you, if you have good poison resist, they should be dead after 1 ww unless they got lucky and claw blocked most of your fbs.
the only other class that gives you problems would be chargers, if you are in the open, they will charge lock you and hit you about 5-6 times before your shield breaks and you die, but if you back yourself against a wall, most will blindly charge right at you, then they will only hit once, which you can take (no other sorcs can), and pound them iwth fb's as soon as they appear. a few fast ones will get off a smite or 2, but you should still have half your mana left when he is dead.

Yah, If your not using griffs you basically need a 15% + Fcr ammy to reach the 200% casting bp assuming your using all other casting gear. Its fun, effective, and just messes w/people.
Also baker. A circlet w/those mods. 3 fireskills/20% fcr can only get a maximum of 2 sockets. But is a godly helm for a fire sorc. Other than that I agree w/your assessment on hoto > wiz.
