Azurewrath bug?

I just traded for an azurewrth on etf and when i try to view it in the inveentory or stash the game crashes before i can see it's stats, i've tried it like 20 time now and no matter how fast, it carshes, i get the unhandled exception access violation thing, it's nonladder in case it has something to do with the problem, i know it's an azurewrath because you can put an item on top and then put the azure in the pionter but as soon as you place it somewhere it crashes, the only place you can view it is on the ground so at least i know it's an azure... does anyone know if this has happened before or how to solve it?

You need the english d2lang.dll to solve this problem. All other languages of D2 crash when trying to view an item with x aura when equipped.

Don't forget to back up your old file, since your diablo will now be in english.

Wow! Thx for that m8! Since i play the spanish version of d2 it's boring to do tradelists and stuff, i have to translate every single thing, i'm gonna keep it english!

Yeah the spanish version is full of bugs, i don't see wether facets are lvl or die, the chance to cast doesn't show up on my botd, and this last thing was the worst of all

i have replaced the dll and the problem persists, game still in spanish and it crashes with the azure, chance to cast still doesn't show up on botd :( do i need to reinstall the game or something?

Just replacing it used to work fine. There is another way, but requires a small change to a file within the patch_d2.mpq file, which will problably remove any chance of you getting on bnet. Strange, that it's still in Spanish. :scratch:

I tried to replace that dll since I had a polish version but with no success. Then I downloaded (from a friend that has the english version) the patch mpq and everything seems to work fine.

Changing just the dll only works for german versions im afraid. To change polish and spanish ones theres a more complicated process involved. If you had a polish version i could direct u to a link that would help you correct it but spanish one i cant do anything about.

(On a side note, it really infuriates me that i have to go through this and cannot just play the game in the language i want. Why not have a language selection option in the game options screen. It would make communication much easier, especially on bnet, i mean how would a person explain to another not speaking english and having a polish version what an azurewrath is for example? Or the fact that 1.10 has been out for over an year now and no one at Blizzard bothered to even try to fix the foreign version bug associated with auras given by items...)

Yes, Blizzard should have fixed this a good while ago, it's been a year and it's still not working. It's pretty annoying, imagine wasting your high runes to complete a rune word and the bug doesn't allow you to use it. Anyway, i'll try and get hold of the english mpq file

Well, you can use it. Pick another item, place over the item with aura, it'll pick up that item, place it in your weapon slot, where something else is, it'll pick up that thing, put it anywhere then. God forbid you from pointing the cursor over your weapon slot though :D
