Ugh, just so sick of lame bnet duellers who doesnt even understand the word duel. A certain barb thought it meant "run away when youre supposed to die and come back with full health". And then has the nerve to blame it on lif regen :mad:
Thats about the first and last time Ill ever duell public again -.-
Seriously, my blood level must be skyhigh now as Im writing this message :p
... know this might happen very often for u who hang out here alot but not for me :rolleyes ...

Public duelers are basically untrained animals, only less civil. However, I can't find any good clan dueling, so I must stick to the pubbies, or be forced out of PvP. I find that when you are a strong dueler however, public duels become slightly more tolerable, because whomever should trash talk you ends up with an axe/sword/ball of some form of energy in their face. Ranting such as this helps relieve the stress of hackers though, who I find on a regular basis.
Anyways, just remember that everybody has to go through that crap. Just try to imagine the future, when people will have invented something that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

Tbh I dont have a pvp char so to speak. I build my chars for pvm but occasionally duel in public games. Chars suchs as bonemancers, hammerdins, windruid are pretty much same built for pvm and pvp so theyre work in duel games too. Maybe I should amke an uber duell cahr to teach some folks out there a lesson ;)
And being able to stab ppl over the internet :eek: ? Now thats a research I would endorse financially personally :p
just channel your anger into verbal abuse trust me its quite a lot of fun and the only reason I still play this game

Actually, yes, that too is good advice. Whenever they decide to just try and trash talk me from town, it's very fun to outdo them. Since I am the generally the only person in any public duel game that is somewhat competant and has a rudimentary grasp of the english language, and I'm a fast typer, I can beat the crap out of them without even having to touch them. Usually, I wait for them to say something profoundly stupid, like "ur a noob n ur mom sukcd me", before proving myself superior to them in every way. In general, they will spam their messages in a constant flow. This is a very weak attempt at blocking you out from making a comeback, though it often backfires, as the other people in the game will get their screens filled up with messages while they are dueling, and therefore become rightly annoyed at the spammer in question. They will then commence the yelling of "STFU NOOB", and the spammer will be dejected and defeated, and probably say something else profoundly stupid just before leaving the game (it's important to leave a good last impression :D).
In the end, things normally work out okay.
Squelch's guide to dealing with idiots in pubs (short version):
The best way of dealing with pub idiots is to humilate them. Once humilated, you will likely be spammed a bit, but then after that they will leave. Seeing as their egos are extremely fragile, this is easy to do, and you might even do it without trying. There are several ways to go about this.
1: "The 6 character rule." Everyone knows there are only 6 types of characters (got this part from stoutwood's guide ^^). Killing them with any other type is sure to do it.
2: "The 1 attack rule." Everyone knows that all good characters only use 1 attack. Using multiple attacks, even if they are similar (fireball and meteor for example) is sure to confuse them. If you beat them using multiple attacks, this is a very fast way to get the desired result.
3: "The 70+ rule." Everyone knows you must be level 70 or higher to own. Killing them with any character 69 or below (preferably also below their level), will also work. The larger the level difference, and the lower you are below 70, the more effective it is.

Okay, I just found someone stupid enough to make me laugh. After owning them repeatedly, they said "Ur moms a guy", immediatly followed by "i raped ur mum". Naturally, this was somewhat of an embarassment to the moron in question :P

OMG! The apocalypse is near! I just found a friendly pub duel game O_o
At first there where some n00bs but they dropped and then some other ppl joined. We actually had a nice chat ... and also they didnt take my 350k gold that i dropped once ^^

EHumm!! Im a pubby dueler and are proud of that ( no im not im just not in a clan) and u should know that there are some really good kids duelling in pubbys. (i myself got most of my friends from boosts and duels)
dont underestimate ppl until u know em will ya? ;)

I have never done clan dueling and i'm a great guy to duel with, even if people come with lvl 90s in an lld room i dont freak out and start shouting noob... unless they nk, thats just ***... but a lot of the time i can beat em with my lvl 27 :D
Sadly, as most people guessed, they are all noobs... I cant complain though, cause ever since i started over, i've been a huge noob >< (conserning items). I guess i'm hard on myself since i made a 505% mfer within 3 weeks without help from any friends.... (i'll admit someone did just give me a 4 Ptopaz armor though ><)
Back to the point, Pub duels are fun until people start acting 'high and mighty'
in short, HAVE FUN. who cares if you die? prove your better and noone will give a **** if you die trying to melee with a sorc. seriously, i've owned in duels before... i could've ran with my zon in .09 and owned 90% of my duels, but i just had a good time. After all, whats the point of dueling if its not fun?

Bah... pub's are really pathetic. Everyone talk's crap and can't back it up, then they start saying stuff like "omg UR MOM WAS GUD IN BED LAS NITE". It's really pathetic, I just toke my Mediocre wind dr00d and wiped out a public game.
One thing you need to realize though, Squelch Button = Greatest Thing Ever Made. And there's only thing you need to say that will get them mad as heck, if you don't squelch them that is, just say Cry more please. Just keep saying it, work's with me :p

Your having a good duel, then a skill hacker comes (i don't care if they don't have skill hack anymore ><) and kills everyone. You'd all talk ****, but you wouldn't be a ble to do anything about it.
In short, they try to keep a bit of thier pride by talking ****... just deal with it or your just as much of a noob as they are... I say noob, not as someone that doesn't know how to duel, but doesn't know how not to be a jerk.
For all of you who say thats different, if your godly, its still an impossible to kill scenario for casual players that don't ebay. So, just chill out and have some fun.
I've heard everything bad you'll have to say about me, so your welcome to waste your breath...

i dueld in some pubbys last night and i met a barb with my experiment (didnt care on reading a guide so my claw claw assa using the double claw attack skill is pretty noobish but for the fun in it i took her too the pubby dueling game and let her loose i kill'd some noob's and they trashtalked. a barb called me very noob making a fighter assa that isnt a claw or kicker ^^
i got my little "lovely" Zealot and.... pwned the **** out of him :) he got scarde and pressed : Save and Exit :D later on a hammerdin came in and said re (guess it was that little barb huh?). i pwned him too and then i left and had a good night's sleep :)

Don't confuse skill with cheap tricks and cheating. Cheating is just another sign of weakness, a crutch to help people that suck too much at this game to try to play fair and win. There is a reason why we've coined the term "Pubby trash." By the way, just by playing in pubbies doesn't make you "pubby trash," cheating, being BM, nking/tging, and lacking the ability to type coherently or with a speech level of a 10 year old, makes you "pubby trash."

EDIT: Oh and forgot to mention: I know an 8 year old kid that takes english as a 2nd language and he still speaks better english than 98% of pubs.

Amen. I'm in the same situation, I can't find any good clans for dueling (clan honour in my opinion isn't even an option. They simply require too many limitations, the majority of which are in favour of their pet, the melee paladin. OR SO IT SEEMS *dramatic crescendo*).
Yes, pub duels are morons, but where would the game be without them? If there wasn't a jackass every second turn in the game, how could you possibly manage to play! It would be unnatural I tellz ya!

Normal person + Anonymity + Audience = TOTAL F*CKWAD.
These people don't act anything like they do over the net in real life. The main reason being it would lead to a short life expectancy. People often forget that there are other people on the computers, watching them make total asses of themselves. I do my best NOT to forget this, and as such I'm every bit as well mannered over the net as I am at home (that might not be saying much....)

I recant my general pubbie statement earlier. I never intended to imply that all pubbies are flaming jerks, especially since I am a pub dueler myself and I put myself down enough. :( That comment was more directed at the previous post to my original post. Unintelligent spouts of "wisdom" set me off.
