I've seen that if you got a eth zakarum that have 7xx def and upgrade it the def ends in 5xx, because game take it as if it were NO eth.
It's a bug or what?
Happen the same with all armor class items? like arreat, jalal, homúnculo, lidless ...?

Only ethereal armors have this bug, ethereal weapons will upgrade and act as ethereal unique of x base type item.

all kind of armors means armors+helms+shields+ etc... right?

Yes, gloves/belts/boots/helms/shields and body armor are all affected.

So do not upgrade Ethereal armours at all.
