Which do you like most, and why?

Personally, I like Shadow Warrior the most, since you can direct the skills it uses at any time. It also costs less mana to cast.

mastter hands down
while you have to be conscience of the skills u have on with SW,
SM is more of a "set it & forget it"
SM uses what ever skill he wants, and usually to good effect
id rather not have to worry about what skill my shadow is going to use, and just let his general use of ANY skill complement what MY ASSY is doing.

It all depends on what kinda build u are using. A trapper build makes sw useless and same with a hybrid because any trap that ur shadow casts gets used against the max of 5. As far as Martial artists its a matter of personal preference. I use warrior but it is much harder to use, for what I find a minimal benefit over master. Master is easier and almost as good IMO.

I find that the Shadow Warrior requires way too much micromanaging for my preferences. The fact that you have to set your *own* two skills for her to use/copy is a major pain. Now, if the game could be set where you could tell the warrior to use 2 skills without looking at the two skills that you're currently using, then it would be significantly more useful. But the interface isn't setup that way unfortunately.

And as for mana costs... it's a moot point. So what if shadow master costs more? In a typical game I would probably cast 1-2 times, max. It's not like I'm spamming master casts over and over.

Well, what I did on my bowsin, for example, was to just put on MB on the right-click and leave it there, all the while shooting arrows at my opponents. The SW would just keep casting it, preventing my opponents from getting to me. I'd say it was pretty effective.

It really depends on the build. If you have a build (like Diabolicos) that can spare a skills slot to make the shadow cast what you prefer then it beats masters by far. But for builds like masins where you cant stand and wait for the shadow to cast MB or DS then Master would be a better choice.

As for my choice, Id say SM ... simply cus all my builds revolvs around melee combat

For a Phoenix Striker it really depends on what you're doing, and where you are. If you need Mind Blast spammage, go with the Master, because you won't be using Mind Blast yourself unless the situation is DIRE. If you just want a boost to your killing speed, use Shadow Warrior, because they'll use Phoenix Strike/Dragon Claw or Phoenix Strike/Normal Attack, just like you!

You need to add an both or depends on build option.

Shadows and there usage are completely dependant on their build. I love shadow warriors with a trapper but with a melee build a master is your better choice since they can lay traps. Or better yet there are builds that focus on using shadows, some of which need the control of the warrior in order to "train" the shadow into a huge damage producer. In some cases you can control them better than any other summoning build.

When all is said and done I find warrior more controlable, but master is more versitile, the choice needs to be made per build not in general. each build is different and each benefits from the shadows differently you have to choose the best per each build you make. Playing just one or the other is very limiting to your skills.

Prefer MA oriented assassins, as such I like the Master better... more of a Fire and Forget, and tends to tank better.

Master is better because in PvP and PvM, he can dish out good damage to those who are resistant to your assassin.

i.e. If you make a light trapper, she can kill those lightning immunes, where as the warrior cant, unless you invest in some other skill.

Also, when necros slap on their civerbs shield (poison length reduced 75%) and their sandstorms, and they have 90 poison resist, and your venom does like 2 damage to them, you can always count on your trusty master to dish out some good damage that your enemy is not focusing against.

Also very true, as is the mention of tanking. That's probably why my Striker always favoured the Master, though there are times where Shadow Warrior could probably up my killing speed.
