Need input on def merc vs hf merc pls 8)

Hey there!

I would appreciate thoughts around 2 mercs, hf merc and defensive merc.

Im wearing Tal set and my build is blizz/glacial spike - fireball/meteor

B4 I go on testing the defensive merc I was wondering if ne one had ne experience with him? and if so how he compare to the hf merc..

I have decent equip for defense merc in case I'll switch, stone and eth andariels visage, but im still not sure what to choose.

Im also curious how ranged/ inc monsters will target me without the hf mercs huge "draw fire and attention" ae dmg.

Situations are different for any player so i suggest this:

Sorc with max block and decent live: i'd say defend merc even more defend makes u harder to hit

Vitality sorc: i'd say go holy freeze because of high live and no block she can be easy hited by enemys so a merc who freezes entire packs for sorc makes sorc more durable.

Holy freeze helps a lot for meteblizz or whatever you call it :P Slowing them down while your merc pokes them gives you enough to launch a few meteors into them.

Well I my self is lover of HF merc. He just perfect for almost any caster slow down everything and for ur spell to take more effect. If you r rich you can just take the D merc and give him the doom runeword on a eth crtic axe and a bramble runeword for the thorn aura.

In most cases, a Sorc is better off with a HF merc, as all sorcs are fragile and slowing down monsters is highly beneficial.

Im not a big fan of the defence mercs, as I find that in hell monsters have such high ARs that they tend to hit you heaps anyway.

IF you party with friends then make sure everyone uses something different

no point having 4x HF mercs... :)

Might a well go something like 1x HF, 1x defence, 1x might, etc.

My only question to you is what is going to be your main spell? If you are going to use blizzard mostly and go to meteor for CIs then why would you want a merc to freeze the enemies when your blizzard is already going to be taking care of this.

I definitely agree with Gaza though, if you have a set of friends you run with normally then diversification is the key.

Blizzard takes time to trigger, n have a chance to miss those monsters within its range.

Besides, h/f will attract monsters to your merc, so that you can cast those whooping spells witha peace of mind.

Even if some of the monsters stay focused, the h/f will slow their next strike on your sorc.
