help on stats points!!!

currently im a lvl 83 meteorb sorc. and my points are :

60 str (blue tho..might be ard 50 in white)

base dex

100 vita

50 energy

im still left wif 260 stat points.. how shld i go abt doin it now..? pls help ty.

erm im wondering whether to put points into vita or energy...fr other threads saw ppl wif at most 88 base str. isit really at least 88..? really need help on my distribution of stat points...ty for any help given.

First of all u gotta make a choice wich gear(armor) u wanna use k? good

Point1: Wich shield u gonna use mainly? (stormshield good 1 is for 156str)
Point2: u gonna use max block or not?
Point3: u want more live and leave block alone?
Point4: dunno

I suggest max block and pick defend merc act2 normal and use stormshield.

but this is all i can think about at moment hope its usefull

I would go vit... unless you use whistans guard to block with.

As said above it depends on your gear and block/vit. When people say 88 Str is is based on a specific piece of gear. If you have all the gear you want and only need 60 Str, then don't add more. If you want a higher Str required armour then you will need to add. Bottom line for Str is minimum for the gear you want.

For Energy, I would not add any points for Energy. If you are low on mana, wear a SoJ or Frostburns or mana charms.

For Dex vs. Life, you need to know if you want to go for max block or not. This also depends on what shield you want. If you are going to use Stormshield, Whistan's, Up'ed Viscerataunt, Up'ed Mosers or something like that, pump your Dex and get 75% block. If you want to use a Spirit, Lidless, or a low block shield then pump your life.

My recommendation is to go for max block. I use an Up'ed Moser with Wizspike for max block and max resisits in Hell but that's just my opinion. As a dual-tree you might get more help from a Spirit with +2 skills and FCR. It's really up to you.

erm i wanna be a PvM n MF sorc. dun really tink i wud use stormshield..is lidless ok? seems like all e sorc r using them. so now i can leave out dex and str. erm so e points go into energy...? or vita? really thanx for u guys' reply ^^ appreciate those precious comments ^^ so vita or energy??

Lidless was a good option before the new runewords. The reasons to use Lidless were for +1 skills, 20 FCR and 10% extra mana. The new Spirit shield is +2 skills, can go 25-35% FCR, has +mana, +FHR and resists. So Spirit is a much better choice than Lidless (but slightly more expensive). If you choose either Lidless or Spirit, then do not go for block since their block rates suck. Instead go for max vit. One thing to note up front...... a spirit shield needs 4 sockets and the lowest Str 4os shield is a monarch which requires 156 Str. So keep that in mind.

If you like the idea of block then look at Stormshield, Up'ed Moser's, Up'ed Viscerataunt, Whistan's Guard.

Everyone has their own opinion and it all depends on what you want to do. Personally with max block, max resisits, 20% DR from Shako, 65FCR breakpoint, holy freeze merc and 100% extra defense from Shiver Armour my bliz sorc is very tough. She may not have as much life as other sorcs, but she blocks 75% of the attacks, any elemental attack is dropped by 75%, physical attacks are dropped by 20%, every monster close enough to hit her is chilled, any monster that swings at her gets chilled and she can teleport out even if she's stuck in a group. The only things that used to own her were Souls in hell Baal runs. But now that she wears 2x 19% absorb Wisp Projectors, she can sit next to 30 Souls and still live (maybe a red pot or two but nothing really life threatening).

Even with all that survivability she has 500+ MF in kill mode and 700+ on switch for bosses. I use her for Pindle/Meph/Andy/Baal in Hell and for Hell rushes (I swap to WW Barb for Snake Temple and Fishymancer for A4). Ultimately either vit or dex will work, it just depends on your playing style.

My mf sorceress has following stats:

about 80 str
about 60 dex
about 50 eng
rest in vita (not about 300)

She uses p-shako, p-skuller, occy, 2-p-diamond moser, chance guid, gold wrap, war traveller, mara and 2 negel rings. She has maxed resist on alll except cold.
She never died recently.
