Deaths Web for a kicker?

I've read that Deaths Web is a good kicker weapon when used with Venom.

Okay, I can understand that, with the -poison resist to opponent.

But, is Deaths Web used as a main weapon or is it best used on switch for after the venom is delivered?

Anyone use D/W on their kicker?

I think people are referring to the fact that they prebuff venom with it, surely no good kicker would use dweb as a wep. But to prebuff venom you should actually use 2x +3 Shadow Disc. claws with 2 5/5 psn facets in each. That would boost ur psn a little more than dweb if I'm not mistaken.

You can't prebuff with Death's Web as it gives -% poison, not +. Many good kickers do in fact use it as their weapon. Against high stacked poison res/PLR opponents you can switch to a fleshripper.

Death's Web is actually pretty stupid; at least I don't like it anyway.
Even with a Shael and a TON of IAS gear, it is nearly impossible to hit 7/3/3/3 Dragon Tail with it unless you use Burst of Speed, which gives your resists, damage reduction, and teleportability a kick in the pants... :rolleyes:

CAn venom be prebuffed with +%psn dmg? I thought you had to hit while wearing +%psn dmg to get the buffering dmg.

Yeah I figured Longwood would chime in after I dissed Death's Web. However, what I said still stands. You either have crap resists, or a good sorc is going to beat the piss out of you.

I was bored writing my paper tonight, so I'll chime in..even though I'm on vacation from this game.

Death's web is a fine weapon for a pure melee kicker. If you are pure melee, go for it. But only if you are wearing bramble, trangs, etc. and you pre-buff venom. You can get max res or close to it with BoS, a web, and an UM'd storm if you plan right. It's close, but doable. Esp. with bramble, storm, and a maras. Those three give you a nice res boost. Throw on a decent CoA with some extra res, an anni, etc. and you're on your way. I'm not running numbers on this, just ballparking it.

Web sucks against casters, unless of course the caster sucks, then all bets are off. Against casters you should always be claw-claw. Period. If you know what you're doing you should also be enigma vs. casters. If you have skill you'll still kill most pubbie casters 50% of the time or better with a bramble, but the good ones will slap you down because of your crap mobility.

You knew I was good for it. I NEVER use death webs for caster unless I'm in a pubby game then they are easy meat anyways. I mostly use death webs for melee and always 2 claws for casters. Saying death web's is worthless is far from it. It works rather nicely. Last night I found a level 87 kickasin in a pubby game and he was dead in 1 round of kicks. If thats not great dueling I don't know what is, haha :lol:

The best kicker I've dueled used a Death's Web with Bramble and a Widomaker on switch. I dueled this guy like 6 months ago and I was very surprised, I had thought that Widowmaker on switch was just a bunch of hype and wouldn't be effective, but it had me messed up pretty bad, probably because I had never encountered it before.

I switched out my Enigma for Bramble (for the poison res) and he switched to Fleshripper + BoS and it was even harder to kill him. Now I couldn't catch him at all while he rained arrows on me. We chatted about strategies and stuff for a while and he was a cool guy - he knew all the top duelers on my server and apparently was considered one of the best as well. I rarely keep track of names myself. We dueled for about 30 minutes and eventually I was winning over 50% with Enigma once I got used to dueling a kicker who could stunlock, shoot guideds, and ran faster than a zon. Still, I was very impressed I thought WW asns were supposed to beat kickers every time easy but this guy gave me trouble. The only reason I was beating him was because my build was better vs him, not my skill.

Anyway, like I said I don't know kickers too well but if this guy was using a Death's Web I'm sure it's pretty good.

Well in all fairness, you're putting words in my mouth. I never once said that Death's Web was worthless. I was only saying that I really think it is a dumb thing to build your character around because of how difficult it makes it to get max kicking speed, damage reduction, resists, etc. You're either forced to use BoS, or kick slowly, and I don't like doing either.
