To ES or not to ES

I have a 88 fire sorc that i plan on remaking. I was wondering wether to go with es or not, and is 200% fcr worth it. I'd have to sacrifice 2 sojs resists from sanctuary and the mass damage from eschutas.

There's three problems with energy shield... ONE: it takes so many damn skill points to get to. TWO: It needs to be synergized to be really effective. THREE: It doesn't take into accoun your resists. I'd suggest not devoting the points to it, but instead keeping a +energy shield wand in your stash (you'll probly have more pressing concerns for your switch weapon) for places that are really difficult or if you find yourself solo-ing or whatever. No clue about fcr.
by the way, way to bite off my "to tal or not tal" post ;).

If you are 88 already you better be ready to lvl up to level 107 so you can max TK as well... I would say its a tad to late.

Well i was thinking about remaking her if indeed energy shield would be pvp, but i made a FO/ES sorc and she sucked due to the fact that i dont like taking 50 hits to kill people lol, but if i continue with this sorc i could have Max bolt,ball,meteor,mastery,warmth If i went the other rout id have the same but Tk instead. The thing that was concerning me most is right now i have about 1200 mana without any points in energy and if i used my cta to cast Es the lowest possible i could get it without switching gear would be lvl 11 wich would be 54% to mana. Would that take a big drain on mana if i got hit by a fireball or something with high damage like that.

It is possible. With completion at lvl 94 my FB/ES sorc is nearly there... you will need a little energy maybe... but consider it. The dmg is still 10k+ per FB and you can kill people 1 shot all over the place.

personally i wouldnt build any sorc without energy shield except maybe nova sorc

Well what about mana regen right now i can do pretty good but with 240% less regen idk. BUt what i really want to know is why everyone is obbsessed with getting 200 fcr on NL its basically impossible without having -8000 resists because u have to use lidless over sanctuary and u cant use sojs so u dont have any mana either :( and u cant use kiras also.

Nice but with 69 absorb how much damage can u usually take like 1 20kfb or can u take more? And how much can u take from a bone nec? Foh?

I can probly take 1 nice FB.. than Die the next. I can take about 2-3 hits of a good Foh'er, and alot from a bone nec... recall though, with 200FCR it is easy to escape most things.. FoH is ussually all I have to worry about because they hit you either way, but I just go for them instead and get them since I attack like 5 for every 1 they do...

If I really need to I have a GA to put on, I would drop FCR to 105 BP and pump absorb having res at 90 already... if it is required.
