Well. Since my friend Joe's anti caster charger worked so well i had an idea.
Anti cast ranger...Muhahaha....
20 Fant
20 resist light
20 resist cold
20 resist fire
1 charge
1 vigor
1 med
this way you have 95% all resist without putting any aura on. if a caster shoots at you, just resist em..and fire away..
Stats:
Str, None or close to none
Dex, TONS
Vita, Not alot.
Dex will increase your damage hopefully.
i dont know this is weird but its a neat idea.
perhaps not even use widowmaker, use a Wf or ebotd hydra.

well, it could work. I had a ranger with 450ish dex at level 80 using a windforce (about 8k damage no charms, no vit, either). I could paste any non block caster in 2 shots and a blocker in 4-5, assuming I could run fast enough (I used maxed vigor). I used a Lo runed wf and highlords/gores, meaning I did some serious damage, especially when that ds kicked in. If you do make one going the fanatic route (regardless of other auras/skills you pick), I really suggest aiming for about 1k-1.5k life, and toss the rest into dex. if you are on ladder (not sure if you are or not), try to get ahold of a fortitude. That armor was just made for rangers (and about everything else, apparently), and the resist all/life on clevel will help a great deal, aside from the other insane mods. oh, fyi, if you play a good defensive duel and are adept at predicting your opponents patterns, you can fry zons very very well.

That would be cool :)
my stormranger usually just run around ppl until they die but with this setup (if your ladder) you can put on dream helm dragon and ice but you arent right?
one other cool idea would be to have doom on switch and when they come close switch to it and they get slowed (but its bm :p )

even better idea, to make a tesla ranger with anti elemental..
use 10 x Offensive aura gc, and maxall resist auras and salvation.
ooo this smells good
max out lightning res, holy shock, salvation, then points evenly into resist fire and resist cold. throw on as many +skills as possible and a widowmaker for GA. unmissing pwnage
The GA that Widowmaker grants is just way too useful. It eliminates your need for AR, and allows you to actually hit moving targets.
The problem with this build is that your damage is low no matter what aura you choose (we've been over this before Lovely :P) and can easily be negated. Also, if you are wanting to have 95 all res, then the hard part is actually getting enough res on the gear. Perhaps you should fill half your inventory with res charms? You will also find it hard to stack res against say FoH'ers and Bliz sorcs as you don't have a shield :\.

As Rane said,
The damage will be relatively low no matter what bow you choose. And I would trade the Windy for a Widow and that way you won't have to worry about AR at all and you will just need enough dex for the bow itself. That way you can dump whatever you have left into life(you will need it). I am also curious about what gear you would be using. You pretty much want to fire as fast as possible so do you go for IAS gear or resistance gear? Tough to have best of both worlds.
My storm-ranger/zealot hybrid setup is as follows:
Helm: G-Face w/ 39/15ias jewel
Armor: G-Angel w/ 15ias jewel
Gloves: Magnus skin (has 20ias a few other nifty mods, and part of set with helm and belt)
Belt: Wilhelms (has dual leech and part of set)
Rings: Carrion Wind and SoJ
Ammy: Rare w/ +2 off skillz and buncha resists
Boots: Infernostride(needed the fire res)
Weapon 1: Witchwild w/ Shael (20ias)+ Nef(for kb obviously)
Weapon Switch: Demon Limb for echant and HoZ w/Perf Diamond
Skillz: Shock, Freeze, Resist Light & Cold maxed, 14 in Salvation(so far), and 4 in Zeal(in case I need to go melee if I get overwhelmed)
Bunch of resistance charms to actually achieve 95 res light, cold, and fire but only 87 in res poison.
Not a top of the line ranger by any means but I do OK for myself for being a poor casual player. Just have to play smart is all.
Good luck on your ranger!

Wilhelms belt is useless for duels... as leech does not work...
I would go with this gear and skill setup
Helm- Dream (the lvl 15 holy shock gets synergized by res light and salv)
Armor-Fortitude/CoH (great resists and dmg)
Weap- Widow Maker-shaeled possibly (GA)
Amulet- Maras/Highlords/rising sun(fire absorb)
Rings-2x raven(cold sorcs)/ resists rings/ 2x wisp(light absorb)/ 2x dwarfs(fire absorb)
Belt- verdungos/nosferatus(ias + slow)/Tgods(light absorb)
Gloves-(20 ias, +str/dex + knockback)/draculs(open wounds and life tap ;))/resists gloves/ lava gouts
Boots- sandstorm treks/Nats with good resists
Skills
Res Light-max
Res Cold-max
Res Fire-max
Salv- 10-max (The good thing about these 4, there are no synergies)
Conviction/fanat-whatever is left-max
no points into holy shock needed...
Throw in some res charms if u need and u got urself an elemental Obelisk that can withstand any elemental attack til the end of time...

Frog,
The build I have is strictly PvM. I never PvP so my gear is setup for monsters. I have never really played PvP as I don't have the time to hunt for top gear nor the wealth to trade for it. All items mentioned above were self-found so I am sort of a "pure" char.
The build you mentioned will have problems I think if you have to keep salvation on all the time against elemental attacks and cant switch to conviction. Anyone with maxed light resists will barely get a scratch on them without conviction being thrown at them. Just my thoughts though.
