Does eth shields give more dmg? It doesn't say so on screen but maybe I was hoping it was bugged or something. So, does eth shields give more dmg?

There's no damage gain whatsoever from the shield being ethereal... unfortunately. And it's sad that it's also bug-free :D

Damn. How about eth HoZ? Are they valuable?

high edef eth HOZ are worth a lot. I believe a 200ed one is worth up to 20 ists.

IMHO, this is an outrageous overkill, and if we add the fact that you need to Zod it rather than let's say Ber it or whatever, then I believe it's one of those items with the rare affix "of Braggin' Rights" which gives +6 to Uberness... :D

Yeah, but I got lucky myself, I found someone in a baal run that had just found a 196ed one (750 def or so) and bought it for only 5 ists. I think that was a great deal and don't regret it at all.

Oh, by the way, in case you hadn't noticed, that was just me abusing my "of braggin" right... :P

I recently traded a 196% ED Eth non-upped hoz for 18 high runes in channel. After the trade, the guy laughed, and told me he ripped me off. I laughed back and told him I was more than estatic with the trade. GO GO Channel newbs ;)

Oh! Nice! So maybe I should trade that shield if i ever need more high runes... :P

If Eth HoZ does nothing much for smite dmg or whatsoever, then why is it worth so much? Isn't better to use a normal HoZ and Um or Ber it?

eth hoz has 50% more total defense than a normal one. the rarity of an eth hoz is also why is it's expensive. if i remember correctly, 5% of all items dropped are ethereal, and class specific items drop at 1/3 of normal rate.
