First off, hi all! I've been lurking here for a while, finally got round to post.
A big thanks is due to Nightfish, because his Fishymancer guide inspired me to start my first HC character ever, and in SP at that. Second thanks goes to Blizzard for the 1.10 patch, because this is what got me interested in D2 again after all these years.
Currently Moloch (I know, stupid name but beats the crap out of something like KickASS_Summoner_XXX) is Conqueror at lvl 68 and is now doing his first Baal runs in NM. So far he mows down everything, but at players 8 it's near impossible to kill bosses. Meph runs at players 3 yielded a surprising number of decent items (kept in an ATMA stash), so Mizan the might merc is now equipped with Vampire Gaze, Iron Pelt and Hwaninn's Justice. Moloch himself however has a pretty unimpressive outfit - Frostburns, Gravespine, Sigon belt and boots and loads of rares. And btw, gambling rules! I found all my good rare rings and ammys from gambling, as well as an amulet of teleport (makes Mephisto running a lot less boring). I love this character, I hope he'll survive in Hell. I've seen what Gloams can do to a character and it's not a pretty sight, not to mention the Ancients...
Now some questions. Meph dropped a Buriza - is this still a "uber" item in 1.10 and can I start a Bowazon because of it? I've never liked Bowazons but I got kinda thrilled when I saw that golden ballista drop, plus I've never found a Buriza before. Same question goes for Titan's Revenge and LightningFury-zon, only it was not Meph that dropped it but some random monster in the WSK.
Wow, lots of new folks here today. Welcome to the SPF!
Keep me informed as to how your HC Necro is doing. I have been thinking of making a HC necro based on the Fishy guide.
My Bowazon used a Buriza for a while in her quests. But she did not finish the game using it. I actually forget what she ended the game using, (out of town and away from gaming comp). I would not call the buriza uber in 1.10. I think there are faster bows which may do even better damage.

Lit zons still rock nearly everything, even bosses because of charged strike.
Buriza is not all it's cracked up to be, as multi-shot zons (pwnage in v1.09) now were ousted by strafezons. As for strafe, buriza is just too slow.
Fishymancer's are really not that great against act bosses above /p1 unless they have lots of crushing blow on themselves or their merc (see NF's CBmancer setup).
If you are running bosses on higher settings, look at XP/time. If baal nets you less XP than lister and minions and yet takes longer, it is best to lower the player settings against the big bug and just let your minions deal with him.

First of all, Welcome! enjoy your stay, calamari is on the menu every night and as you may have noticed the exits have been bricked up. there is no escape.
AS for your question. since 1.10 the burizazon (or how ever they say it) isnt the godly build it once was, but bowazons still have potential to kick rear end. i have a lvl 89 freeze zon and she cna do baal runs on P1, but shes not that safe, i rely on my merc and valk to stop monsters swarming me.
As for the LF'zons, they are more common than bowazons, but again arent what they once were, now designed for pindle runs more than cows, although she still brings home the beef pretty well (actually amazingly well, but cows were nerfed heavily in 1.10)

Welcome to the forum, Storm! Enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the SPF!
Prepare for a long stay.
Welcome to SPF.
Buriza is OK, though not the super uber.
But Titans is the best weapon for javazon (along with Thunderstroke).

Is this kicking some cool initiation ritual I don't understand or I managed to upset someone with my first post? Wow, I can image what'll happen after a hundred posts :teeth:
Anyway, I found that players 3 works best for boss running - gives enough items and Meph or Baal doesn't take forever to kill. I'm not sure how it'll be in Hell though.

welcome! *hands Hailstorm a salve for his blue shins*
as you see some folks here need both hands to play D2 and prefer greeting by kicking shins. - you ought to be happy, they did never have the time to learn karate, otherwise you'd probably feel their kicks higher than in the shin. ;)
hjave a great time here and never forget to guard your shins ;)
your questions have already been answered: If you decide which ama-build to go for, choose the javazone, as titan's really rocks and buriza is more or less only "nice" in 1.10
your bowzone will be able to do damage, yes, but buri is not poorer people's windforce any more ;)

Just an initiation, don't worry. I started doing it roughly a year and a half ago, and people have been copying me lately. Damned copycats ;)
Baal, Diablo and Meph basically always drop 6 items at players 3. I believe that you need players 4 for Duriel and 5 for Andariel.

welcome to the forum!
enjoy your stay, and good luck in hell with your fishymancer! I hear they are very safe, but have never played one myself. Be sure to check out the FAQs, if you haven't already.
Coincidentally, I matted my LF-zon, Chesty, over the weekend. She uses a Titan's, and has a Buriza on switch. It's a great build, and a load of fun. Plague Jav is a good backup skill, especially for the patient. (One blast can do around 20K damage, but over like 16 seconds or something.)

Welcome to the SPF and the wonders of Nightfish's fishymancer. I'd give you some shinguards, but I see its too late for that. Enjoy your stay here, and I hope your shins are okay.
Welcome and enjoy your stay :).

Welcome to the SPF :)
Don't listen to what these people tell you. :) Buriza is still a fantastic weapon, though you take 2s to strafe. Guided arrow no longer pierces as well. It has been replaced by other more powerful weapons as the uber though.

A, good to hear that this stuff is still udeful. I just might start an amazon someday, but not before Moloch is Guardian (or has died trying).
