View Full Version : New stats on rw's
Does anyone know what happened to the runewords that blizz changed recently? Do they still work? Or are the new stats already functional? :xx: was thinking about making a fortitude in armor the other day, but found that it was too risky :p Just curious if anyone has tried this after the change ^^

Hmm, sure, they work :)
However, regarding Fortitude in armor, I really don't know what you'll get.
You'll surely get something. Arreat Summit has updated with this info:
Fortitude
El + Sol + Dol + Lo
Weapons
20% Chance To Cast Level 15 Chilling Armor when Struck
+25% Faster Cast Rate
+300% Enhanced Damage
+200% Enhanced Defense
+15 Defense
+1-99 To Life (Based on Character Level)
Replenish Life +7
+5% To Maximum Lightning Resist
Body Armor
All Resistances +25-30 (varies)
Damage Reduced By 7
12% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
+1 To Light Radius
What I don't get is the bonuses for armor. Usually Arreat Summit lists the rune bonuses as part of what the rune word give, for simplicity, however in that case it's missing the bonuses from Dol and Lo. Hmm, besides, it looks like really few bonuses for a Lo rune. Wouldn't a Smoke armor be much better than that, with much cheaper runes?
So it looks a bit strange if Arreat Summit is correct, and really have to wonder if they are.

My Fortitude Balrog Skin has every one of those listed stats, however I am willing to bet if you made it in a sword you would not get any of the bonuses listed under armour (the all resist for example). You are correct though, When made in a weapon it should give Deadly Strike (Lo) and Hit Causes Monster to Flee (Dol).
The simple solution would have been to list the entire stats for individual item types, the way they have done it is causing confusion.
<---- kinda more confused :p Will you get the new stats listed on arreat summit if you make the fortitude in armor? And what will happen to the prices on the fortitudes already made in armors? :p

They screwed the info up. Runes add different abilities to weapons than they add to armor. For example, Lo in a weapon adds a 20% chance for deadly strike while in an armor it adds 5% to maximum lightning resist. A runeword has the standard abilities of the runes plus a few bonus abilities. Both versions of the runeword share these bonus abilities, like fcr, 300%ed, 200%def, chance to cast chilling armor or bonus to life.
BTW, my Fortitude armor (in an archon plate) adds 1.25 life per level, not 1 per level. This has already been discussed some time ago and IIRC the multiplier seems to be random, although it might as well depend on the armor or the weapon you put the runeword into.
But still? Has anyone here actually tried to make a fortitude in body armor after the new stats came? And if the "old fortitude" is no longer possible to make, that must mean that the "old fortitudes" will become very overpriced?

There are no new stats, and there never was a change in the game. It was simply a change in the way the Arreat Summit displayed its runeword data. Body armor Fortitudes will always, and have always, gotten all those mods:
20% Chance To Cast Level 15 Chilling Armor when Struck
+25% Faster Cast Rate
+300% Enhanced Damage
+200% Enhanced Defense
+15 Defense
+1-99 To Life (Based on Character Level)
Replenish Life +7
+5% To Maximum Lightning Resist
All Resistances +25-30 (varies)
Damage Reduced By 7
12% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
+1 To Light Radius
This has been asked in another website's forum a while ago, and it was proven with screenshots that the runewords have not gotten a change.

Thanks for that clarification. God, what was GFraizer thinking... Or rather *not* thinking.
That has to have been the most illogical possible way to separate the stats. :P
Jeez, if they'd just write what stats you'll get. Like people expect them to.
OK, then it's as nice rune word as ever with 300% off-weapon damage.
Well, thanks for clearing that part up :D

Me and a moderator have between us made 3 fortitudes, and have noticed that the life per char level varies between 1 per level and 1.5 per level. all three were compared at the same time, made by the same char, and were in a phase blade, a wire fleece, and boneweave.

I had heard that it even goes up to 2 in some cases... maybe I'm crazy though.
