View Full Version : KTA 9.0 sets a new milestone
That's right..I think our new group went as far in the first session as no other KTA group before:
Den, Bloodraven, Cain, Countess, Malus, Andy, Radament and Cube...
The only no-show was Powerplay..boy you have some catching up to do..after you do the explaining why you were AWOL. Lv 20 is the max for Wednesday where I will have to stop around 20:15, 20:30..so lets start on time.
I leave the details to somebody else to post, like builds and character names, because it is late, I am drunk and have to be out of town tomorrow. Screenies will be uploaded Tuesday night..sorry no earlier chance.

Lets see what I can remember from last night. The team was ....
Fire Druid
Skellymancer
Mojomancer
Zon (throwing spears at the moment)
Barb (supposidly a singer, but he was waving a sword around last night)
Sin (and not a trap in site)
Sorc (also waving a sword around)
Our last member was missing ... was he going to be a Paly ?
Act 1 Normal was a breeze, no close calls and the monsters were mowed with little problem, even bosses fell easily thanks to Amp Dam, Static and a good wack. The whole of Act 1 and finding all WP's was done in about 75 minutes.
Act 2 was much of the same, although care was needed with the lightening scarabs outside of Lut Guilen. Our resists are pretty crappy at this stage. (When are they not in a untwinked team ?)
As Det mentioned, we end up getting as far as obtaining the cube.
We all ended up around level 19. This gave me, the enchantress a whole 2 points in enchant... and what a hassle trying to keep everyones weapons bright red. There was 7 team member, 7 mercs, 2 golems, a bunch of skellies ..... I didn't get around to seeing if the druids doggies or raven can be enchanted. By the time the last one was enchanted, it was time to do the first ones again. I'll be glad when I get a level 20 enchant, and the time durance of the spell is much longer.
I'd like to welcome the newest member to the KTA European family, Scharf our Skellymancer. Come Hell, her (she is a she, right Det?) minions are going to be pivotal to our survival. I hope you enjoyed last night.

There was nothing to stop us yesterday. I hope everyone enjoyed this evening as much as I did. And I hope we didn't rush things to fast for KTA-schnaf.
My build still is a Mojomancer, and I will have at least 1 point in every curse. Should you feel you want a specific one just let me know so we can discuss it, but for now I am leaning towards DV and Decrepify.
Notable finds of the evening... Nothing! I think we might destroyed our mf luck last KTA season. But I did gambled Death guard sash.. gogo cannot be frozen...
As for the fire elemental druid, I did make one the first ladder and went the Armageddon route but he didn’t do enough damage plus it was damn hard to hit anything with this skill. You had to keep running around the monsters and hope the meteors hit them before they hit you. So I used fissure and molten boulder instead and volcano for bosses.

We found hsarus shield and infernal cap! The luck keeps going ;) I visited the countess 3 times, and have a tal - now only eth and first uber runeword will be up.
I hope PowerPlay will decide to catch up, as I would love the bowazon in the team..
Edit: omg, five KTA threads on first page. Maybe HAM is right :lol:
I think I have two eths... just no tal :P
The countess was kind enough to drop me another ral, but nothing else of note.
Tried a few andy runs which are surprisingly easy... found a rare amulet which wasn't too bad so I kept it.
I must say it's amusing to charge up, switch, switch up another skill, and kick for 400-600 damage + splash + knockback and leech back 80% life and mana.
I'll get Death Sentries eventually, but have too much to work on for now. I'll make sure to get it NM probably... Act III NM at latest.
Found another Hsarus buckler as well - not that anyone was interested in the first one ;)

If i am not able to assamble on tonight i would like to use the stealth, but there is perhaps someone else that needs it more. I think perhaps KTA-Schnaf could use it also.

Made me a stealth armour myself as well =]
Since I didn't level yet, I might run the countess and andy a wee bit more tonight or so... see if I can convince her to drop another tal and another nagel.

Got 2 more tals and an eth, so enough stealths for all of us i guess :D
Also a crushflange and clegs gloves. Cubing a tal out of iths is a thing I do only in KTA :lol:

After the frenzy of Monday I played a bit alone and got 2 Tals in one drop from Countess on the second run. Guess I need an ETH now.
Still on lv 19.5 and actually being able to kill things for now. I am leaning towards maxing fissue and Volcano. With all the prereq for Grizzly and possibly maxed Oak that is already close to 70 points gone.
Still debating Armageddon, which...yes..is a pain to aim..but it is also a synergy to Volcano...so having it on won't hurt.
Still..the damage and the way only some fire spells are synergies to each other makes you wonder WTF Blizz was thinking here (if at all)
Then again....I wanted that challenge..can't play Hammerdins or other cookie cutters all the time...

True.. true. Some builds look good on paper and are a blast to play, but they wont kill like a LF ama or any other cookie cutter. But still, that's not why we play like this.
I did some countess yesterday and got some Eth runes. Didnt find anything else.

Personally I'm very glad that we have so unusual builds - you, the mojo man, MA assassin, bow enchantress. Makes the party interesting, and I'm curious how we'll manage later, especially on hell :D
Edit: how nice the tower levels are so small on norm, heh?
I think especially the enchantress will help a lot...of course not agains PI's...but even my Druid might do some damage with a fast enchanted bow..and the Grizzly (or wolves) and the skellies...
For FI's we still have our Physical, Lightning and cold(?) damage

And of course we have some nice curses to break some of the imunites.

Static is a lightning skill so mainly LI's will be immune. In NM you can static down to 33%, and in Hell 50%.

Hehe, my sorc is 1/8 of the team ... so I'll knocked of the 1st 1/2 of a Hell LI's life and leave the other 1/2 to the rest of the team. Sounds more than fair to me :D
How far can I get Hell PI's life down to ?

LI's will not be affected by static... And its the non LI's that you can static down to 33% in NM an 50% in Hell.
From Arreat summit
Static Field is Lightning damage, and can be resisted through Lightning Resistance.
Static Field is not affected by Conviction and Lower Resist.
Static Field will not take a monster below 33% health in Nightmare and 50% in Hell.

Might as well toss my ideas for my druid up here:
20 Fissue
20 Volcano
Gonna test Armageddon with a helm that we should find at first
10-20 Oak (I know y'all will want 20, but lets just see.)
Debating wether I want Carrion Vine, cause that will need 2 points to get it
Debating 3 wolves or 1 Grizz. Pro for wolves = They are 3 and enchanted the damage is 3 times that..and we have 3 additional tanks. Pro Grizzly = Huge HPs
Prereqs spend: 3 on summons, 5 more if I want amageddon. IF I want it and load up on it, it gets really tight on skillpoints.
Advantage: More fire damage and it will be on while I wait for the cooldown on Volcano (4 sec :( ) or Fissue (2 sec ).
To have something to do while my spells work and cool down I am considering two possible, fast bow-runewords:
First EDGE in a [-10] exceptional bow (TIR TAL AMN):
Level 15 Thorns Aura When Equipped
+35% Increased Attack Speed
+320-380% Damage To Demons (varies)
+280% Damage To Undead
+75 Poison Damage Over 5 Seconds
7% Life Stolen Per Hit
Prevent Monster Heal
+5-10 To All Attributes (varies)
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
Reduces All Vendor Prices 15%!!!
Later HARMONY in a 4 socket [-10] Elite bow TIR ITH SOL KO
Level 10 Vigor Aura When Equipped
+200-275% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+9 To Minimum Damage
+9 To Maximum Damage
Adds 55-160 Lightning Damage
Adds 55-160 Fire Damage
Adds 55-160 Cold Damage
+2-6 To Valkyrie (varies)

Regenerate Mana 20%
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
+2 To Light Radius
Level 20 Revive (25 Charges)
When enchanted on top of that, it doesn't sound all to shaby (apart from the fact that I will lose res from a shield...
We would have another tank though... a li'l valky is nothing to sneeze at :)
(even though she'll be much less sturdy than a regular one)
My bear last round was using 10 Oak or so w/ +Skills.
I'd advise to just it get to a decent level and let +skills do the rest. Am sure a DarkClanCrusher or something similar will drop for prebuffing. And you can max it out later if you want...
I must say I kinda like the thought of Armageddon... though it's costly in points... Probably best to try n find it on a pelt yea, though then you run into problems with you find that +2, +30 res all Pelt.
On a sidenote... MA Assassins aren't all that uncommon. Kicksins are the most common ones, but PhoenixStrikers are so well rounded they are one of the few classes that can actually solo hell on their own without really running into trouble. You've got 3 or 4 sorts of damage, a valuable tank, corpse disposal and can get around IM (just wait for the first corpse and drop a Death Sentry... Mindblast whatever is being annoying in the meanwhile).
They're not the best of tanks though, due to fairly low hitpoints and armour class, so it's a lot of dashing in and out.
So far I'm switching between 3 or 4 skills atm in a single fight, which'll become more once I get Phoenix Strike and one of its synergies as well.
PSsin or LFzon will be my next KTA character Aerath :)
..and when I find a +2 30res all pelt, I will happily invest the points in Armageddon...because I can also use CA (even 60 absorb are better than nothing) and put my Hurricane on..(it won't kill, but chill )

IIRC if conviction or lower res removes the immunity, then Static is attected - otherwise it wouldn't work at all;)

I can happily recommend both - had a blast with bost of them (well, still playing the PSSin, but so what !)
And what I meant with the uber pelt.. if you find that around lvl 75 or so, it'll take ages to get the skill points worked up for Armageddon... 5 levels will take forever.

Nah...I always have a few points saved. After around lv 50 or so when everything else is taken care off. I expect to have a 'geddon pelt by then..

No..nothing from him...which is weird as he was adding his character and build..and was even complaining that I overlooked him in a post.

Maybe we got another holy.... or just some ISP problems.
Does KTA-Schnaf still have problems with the membership here at Dii.net? Maybe we could get a KTA forum at GAT??? She should be able to get in there atleast. It would be fun to have all members able to share their thought during the ride.

She still has trouble. I will give her the GAT URL at Barrys suggestion. For now I will meet her online and we will finish act 3 (or however far you ppl went) at a more leisurely pace...

(didn't to the book Q).
Chiller said that Powerplay had computer problems, though I don't know exactly how she got to meet him if he's unable to run diablo.
