So Im making a LF zon for Hellcows and maybe some chaos sanc...yall think I should get a valk or is it pointless?
Is this HC? Well, lets see...LF 20 points. Synergies are a waste IMHO. Secondary skill is not really needed..some of the fingermages might be PI though.
Other points might go into Pierce....
That means you might have loads of points to spare. Why not sink 17 into Valk? Unless you get a rush you might very well need her on your way..and its always nice to have a few minions out there (merc, decoy, valk) that get hit before you do....

What are finger mages?(edit: I forgot I put that bit about chaos sanc in there so nvm) I already put some points into synergies oops...oh well...I think im gonna go max synergies anyway just to make sure I can handle 8ppl games should I ever find one...
Well, the lightning synergies are very useful for charged strike and practically useless for LF. And charged strike is great for bosses, but useless for groups.
So, I'd go through hell cows and the chaos sanctuary a few times without a valk to see it works for you. If you don't think you need a valk, dump points into synergies.
Personally, I think valk is awesome for cows. Especially if she gets to level 17 with item skills (she gets the best weapon at that level). If you're gonna do more cows than Diablo or other big bosses, valk is the way to go. Although without synergies, CS is pretty weak for bosses. You could try only a few points in valk and more in synergies, too. You might have to recast the valk more. Also, a holy freeze merc with a Reaper's is a godsend in cows. With a level 20 valk and my merc, cows never get to me (unless they're cursed or extra strong or something).
And like det said, pierce is the best "synergy" for LF. I use Razortail (30% pierce, I believe) and then skill points to around 70% to get about 100% pierce (level 9 pierce is 69%, and also where the returns really start to diminish, so it's a great level).

i always get max pierce using razortail with my bow and lf zons
its 33 percent pierce btw, 8 points in pierce gets u 98% piercing and 9 gets u guranteed

TO Valk definitely. She got a serious upgrade in 1.10 and is my favorite dumb-blonde (only one I ever loved :xrollseye .) At level 17 she spawns with a rare War-Pike, read: she can kill stuff in hell. She's also practically invincible too, and cheap enough to recast whenever.
Zonpro (Heh :xrollseye ) tip: If you cast your valk and she is orange, recast her. Her orange color means that her rare elite armor spawned with the +xx damage to attacker mod, which is worthless in hell. Blue is my personal favorite, b/c she'll be casting Frosty Nova's when hit provided even more crowd control than she already does, which is really saying something.
How do you know what mods are created with the valks? What else are there?
Also, is LF, CS and LS good enough, or should I go one more into CS synergy?
CS should do fine with two synergies, I think.

Yup, if you're using Titans (the only weapon for a LF-zon) you should do at least 1-2000 damage per bolt for CS with 2 synergies. Thats more than enough IMO.

personally I hate valk's so I say no, its a waste of skills

Having a Valk helps in herding the cows into tight packs. That's when a single throw of your LF is often enough to decimate the pack in no time at all. Unfortunately, herding is something of a lost art..
Valk, a waste of skills? Not by a long shot. Believe me you could do much worse... ;)
Can someone list what the diff colurs of valks mean? I know each one has diff mods but I would know which ones are the best and such.
Pretty much works like armour/weapon colours on you:
Orange-damage returned, silver-def based on char lv, gold-enhanced def
black weapon - cruel, red weapon-life leech.
For more info, maybe the search function for "Valk" or "Valkyrie" helps... (as this has been researched in depth in the past..as well as "what can spawn on her at what lv")

Sounds like red might not be too bad... tho i wonder why does yellow spawn the most?

Yeah, tell me about it. I used to be able to heard with the best of them, but now that I have enigma, I can't run around anything. I tried switching to a different armor and just died constantly. I have no skill anymore. Of course, the teleport allows my merc and valk to spawn where I want them rather than way behind me, stringing the cows out in a horrible line.

MY philosophy is:
For bowazons: Get lvl 17+ vlak
For javazons: 1 pt
Javazons tend to lack skill points since most will go into the light/psn skills and synergies so 1 pt is enough, just let ur +skills boost the valk. Also javazons have access to shields for max block and possible for a good amount of res which makes them more defensive then bowazons.
Bowazons tend to have the res on the low side, no block (duh!) and less defense, therefore Valk will become more important. Also bowazons tend to have lots of skill points unused after gettng the essential skills.
