Aight, I just picked up an eth great poleaxe during a hell baal game w/ no sockets. Does the socket quest matter completely on the mlvl of the monster the item dropped from.. or does difficulty play a role as well.

Just trying to figure out what gives me the optimal chance of 4 sockets on this bad-boy.

If it dropped on hell, it will get the maximum number of sockets. I don't remember if that one is max 4 or not though... :xgrin: Hey I think the smileys are back! ...or not. Odd, they show up on the side...

The optimal chance to get 4 sockets are with the cube recipe. Socket quest at any lvl will give you max sockets on this, and that is 5 sockets.

Actually it's 6 sockets max on Great poleaxe, so no obedience :(. So still stuck with taking your chances with the cube.
