Hi guys, few questions about Wisp Projector -

1. Is it worth to get Wisp Projector for summon nec?
2. Does lvl 5 and lvl 2 HOW and Oak sage live long enough to support skeles?
3. Does lvl 5 HOW give good amount of Dmg & AR?

also i think you can only have 1 summon at a time

So, why do people recommand Wisp Projector for Summon Nec? Lightning Absorb ? MF ? Both summon guides on Strategy Compendium choose Wisp Projector for 2nd ring. Am I missing something?

well, i've got a 68 summoner i just started a few days ago and I must say gloams are the biggest annoyance i've faced. This is due to the piercing light attack that summons dont block. So I imagine the light absorb is a key factor in why they tell you to use Wisp... with all the summons an Oak or HoW might be able to survive for a decent amount of time as well. My crappy merc doesn't get killed in hell due to this.

i did the hell anya quest solo with my summon nec a couple of weeks ago -- and i REALLY REALLY REALLY do not want to have to do it again

if//when my nec dies, ill probably just boost his resists with charms and bypass that quest

actually, you can keep making games to reroll the guest monsters. That's what I did with my last bowazon (no shield, LR -10%). To keep from getting hit at all, I would just go poke around the entrance to the frozen river in every new game with a big pally (90LR, 35%DR), and kept remaking new games with the zon until I didn't find any gloams in the FR. Cheesy, I know, but I don't use MH and my pally & zon were leveling the whole time anyway.

You'll end up with a game with no gloams, but lots of PI ghosts and some dolls.

The level 7 spirit of barbs actually hangs around a decent amount of time. I had a wisp on my lightning trapper in season 1 (I know, I know, on a trapper... it was too cool to trade or park on a mule at the time) and it survived pretty good with just 2 other minions out there (shadow master and merc). I imagine it would live quite a while with a 12-15 minions. It wont do you tons of good and won't survive gloams long, but a little damage return on your skellies never hurts anything.

Stimm is right about the oak and HoW; they fold in 1-2 hits and are expensive to keep recasting.

i must have the worst luck in the world then nebby -- i have yet to be down there in the new patch without gloams being present

next time i do that quest, ill keep changing games!!

i've alse tried wisp before, on a summon nec. the two summons don't die that much, but they also don't make that much of a difference. i think it's better to just put a big res ring or a mana ring on your other finger, as those are the biggest concerns for necs. for poisoners a big light res ring does wonders. and of course if you are filthy rich, 2x sojs are of course the best way to go.

btw, don't bother putting in a wisp if it is your only source of light absorb. a single wisp doesn't really do much. a tgods on a nec might sound ridiculous for some, but it is what i used on my first successful nec last season, and only conv gloams got him (2 sets of them side by side).
