hunting Dclone...

hey all, was just wondering if anybody could provide details on how to hunt dclone's IP address? thnx much;-)

For east, dunno about other realms, to get the hot IPs. Or at least that used to be the best place for east, it might not still be overly active but I assume it is. Unfortunately hack sites are the good places to go to find out which ip, as they're the dupers who provide the sojs to make him pop frequently.

Once you have a hot IP found:
-create a game
-alt+tab
-start>run>cmd enter
-netstat -n enter
-look for the ip address on port 4000 (it'll look like xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy:4000)
-the yyy is the specific server you're trying to match with the hot server
-if it matches then sit in the game and wait, making sure not to time out
-else repeat

But watch out for Realm Down when you create to fast!
You have a chance of 1 out of 1000 per game.
You can create about 30 games in an hour without getting realm down.
So not a big chance, so DClone hunting is about to die i suppose.

Diablo clone is a joke to kill. The only time he is hard is if you try to solo him. A couple ppl can take him down in less then 90 seconds espcecailly if you have a sorceres

He isn't even hard for many cookie cutters solo, just long for some.

And 1/1000? Where are you getting that number, seeing as 255 is the magic number, and I'm fairly sure (though not completely) that Blizzard doesn't have that many servers per realm -.-

An IK barb using conc can kill him solo in about 5 minutes. 2-3 minutes with a little help. I have not seen the DC in a few months now, although the counter goes off maybe every 10 days or so. Not like the first ladder season.

Servers range from 17 to 180 (at least on west). However, battle.net will automatically connect you to the fastest (read: emptiest) server, and that being so, it may be more difficult to get on a server when its a bit crowded.

Cookie cutter builds actually have more problems with dclone, on average. No so much the blizz sorc and the hammerdin, but any melee without crushing blow may have a problem, any elemental damage dealer without lower resist of any sort will have a problem (dclone has 95 res all and 50% physical DR).

The dclone build that allows for the swiftest and safest kills would be a smiter, using dracul's gloves, an Upped HoZ, Guillaumes face, goblin toe/gorefoot, and then a fast weapon with crushing blow or a grief phase blade. Popular choices are the unique caudaceus (spelled wrong of course), Heaven's Light with two shaels, and a black runeword flail/knout. A guide somewhere would be able to point out more specific details on that one.
